Australian heart-throb Heath Ledger and his fiancée Michelle Williams are celebrating after becoming parents to a baby girl. Little Mathilda made her debut on Friday in Brooklyn, where the couple have a $2-million home.

First-time mum Michelle will be able to exchange baby tips with her former Dawson's Creek pal Katie Holmes, who is expecting Tom Cruise's child. But while Katie is half of one of Hollywood's most high-profile couples, Michelle's romance developed more discreetly.
She's been dating the Knight's Tale actor since they met on the Canadian set of Ang Lee's gay cowboy film Brokeback Mountain. Twenty-five-year-old Michelle plays wife to 26-year-old Heath's tortured rancher.
While promoting the film in Toronto last month, Michelle couldn't hide her excitement about the baby. "It's strange to watch the film now because it means so much more to me. I met my husband there, the seed of my daughter was born there - it's just really, really powerful."
During her pregnancy, Heath has been very attentive and is reportedly planning to take her on a trip to Sydney. For the moment he has his hands full with promotional duties for Casanova and The Brothers Grimm, which are also out in the coming months. Then the actor, who previously dated fellow Aussie Naomi Watts, will take time out to care for the baby.

Australian heartthrob Heath Ledger will always have a special place in his heart for his latest film, "Brokeback Mountain," because it "brought" him to his fiancee, Michelle Williams.
The actor, 26, and former "Dawson's Creek" star Williams, 25, fell for each other last year while filming the movie. The couple welcomed their first child, Matilda Rose, into the world on Friday.
Ledger says, "My relationship with Michelle was something that slowly fell into place. We were brought together during this amazing story and our relationship began to unfold. I couldn't be more excited or happier. It's a wonderful time. I've been astonished at the profound changes that have happened in my life. I'm now going to have some time off to enjoy it all."
