| Isaac Hayes, Justin Timberlake Receive Recording Academy Honor

Isaac Hayes, his songwriting partner David Porter, and Justin Timberlake are among the artists who were named as recipients of the Memphis Chapter's The Recording Academy Honors 2005.
Screenwriter/director Craig Brewer, and the first African-American programmed radio outlet WDIA will also be honored at the event which takes place on October 22 in Memphis. The Recording Academy presents the awards to outstanding individuals whose work embodies excellence and integrity and who have improved the environment for the creative community.
Tickets for the event are $75 for Academy members and $125 for non-members, and can be obtained by calling the Memphis Chapter office at 901-525-1340. Proceeds from the dinner at the event will benefit the MusiCares Hurricane Relief Fund.
