Janet Jackson is a Mommy

The New York Post claims Janet Jackson has an 18 year old daughter. Janet Jackson married James DeBarge when she was 18. They were only married for about a year until their marriage was annulled, but Janet allegedly gave birth to a daughter during that time. Janet's former brother in law, Young DeBarge, told Hot 97 on Friday that Janet's daughter lives with Rebbie Jackson, Janet's oldest sister.

"James and the Jackson family kept everything real close, real tight," Young DeBarge said. "No one really knew how it was working out until things kind of surfaced."

Janet Jackson's rep Patti Webster didn't deny the claim yesterday, only saying the singer didn't wish to comment. And the young woman is not happy about her star mom's refusal to acknowledge her, the uncle said.

"I think there's a little despondence," DeBarge said when asked about Renee's feelings for Jackson. She hasn't really revealed that, but I'm sure that there's some feelings there. It's only natural that you wonder about what is and how it's come to be that way."

You'd think this would be a shock, but frankly the Jackson family have lost the ability to shock now. They can keep throwing things at us, but we just don't care that much anymore ...

Janet's (supposed) daughter:

http://www.inreview.com/attachment.php?s=&postid=617703

The info I have got says that the girl in that photo is Brandy Jackson - the daughter of Janet's oldest brother Sigmund "Jackie" Jackson. Brandy also has an older brother named Sigmund II. Brandy's mother, Enid Jackson died of a brain aneurysm a few years ago.

That photograph is from a Barbara Walters interview that Brandy and her brother did defending their uncle Michael a couple of years ago.

Brandy used to have curly hair-she was one of the kids in the "Black or White" video (she was wearing a yellow shirt) with Macauly Culkin. She was also sitting on Michael's lap in the video for a 1989 song called "2300 Jackson Street" the Jackson family did.

Some websites say she was adopted but that the family resemblance is obvious, she looks just like Michael. So supposedly this is Janet's daughter, adopted by Enid Jackson.

I've also heard two additional rumors today -

1)Janet has two other kids besides the 18 year old daughter, including a 16 year old son

2)the daughter who is now 18 was born with Downs or some other learning disability which is why Janet rejected her

Janet Jackson: Secret Mom?

First comes love, then comes secret marriage, then comes secret baby.

According to a former brother-in-law of Janet Jackson, that's how things worked during the pop star's hush-hush union to singer James DeBarge, with the couple producing, but never publicly acknowledging, a daughter.

The Jackson-DeBarge offspring was raised by Rebbie Jackson, the eldest and lowest-profile of the musically inclined siblings, Young DeBarge, a brother of James DeBarge, told New York City's WQHT-FM ("Hot 97") on Friday. His reputed niece, identified as Renee, is now 18, he claimed.

Jackson, 39, has not responded to Young DeBarge's statements, which is nothing new. The pop star is never in a rush to confirm or deny information about her off-stage life. It was years before she acknowledged that she'd been married to James DeBarge as a teen-ager; it wasn't until choreographer Rene Elizondo filed for divorce that his relationship with Jackson was revealed to be of the husband-and-wife variety. Even today, there are whispers that record producer Jermaine Dupri is more than Jackson's boyfriend, and is, in fact, her third husband.

The secret baby story is one that has kicked around for years. Brian Oxman, an attorney for the Jackson family, said the version he heard had Jackson's record label urging the then-emerging star to keep the kid out of the picture. Since Oxman was in a position to ask if it was true, he said he did. "The answer is no way, no how," he said Monday. "From the sisters to the mother, every last one of them said it never happened."

Oxman said he believes the Jacksons, labeling the secret baby story an "urban legend."

DeBarge

By all accounts, Janet Jackson wed James DeBarge, of the family band DeBarge ("Rhythm of the Night"), in 1984, when the future Super Bowl flasher was 18 and he was 21. The marriage was said to have ended in annulment in 1985.

Doing the math, a Jackson-DeBarge baby who was 18 in October 2005, would have to have been born in 1987, or possibly late 1986. Either way, the timeline means the child would have been born after the couple's reported breakup, and during Jackson's emergence as a superstar with her solo breakthrough, Control

Rebbie Jackson, 56, is the mother of three children with longtime husband Nathaniel Brown.

According to the U.K. entertainment Website, FemaleFirst, Janet Jackson told British Glamour last year that, thanks to her relationship with Dupri, she was contemplating having children.

"For the first time in my life," Jackson said.

KING: Do you want children of your own?

J. JACKSON: You know, it is really funny. The last time I saw you, I said no, right?

KING: Right.

J. JACKSON: Now that I'm not married, it has definitely crossed my mind.

KING: You realize how weird that sounds. Now that you are not married, you would like to have children. Why? Why now?

J. JACKSON: Well, it definitely has crossed my mind. It's not anything that I'm -- I don't feel like my biological clock is ticking and I have to rush into anything, but I have thought about it. And, actually, I -- I had a talk with my sister one day, my sister LaToya, and she made me realize a few things, and maybe, some day, I will have a child. Maybe two. I don't know, we'll see.

KING: Because being an aunt, you know, is easy.

J. JACKSON: I'm sure it is, compared to having a child of your own.

KING: Don't you think, sometimes, you would make a good mother? I mean, you know...

J. JACKSON: No.

KING: You don't think you would?

J. JACKSON: No. I don't. I really don't. That is -- that is one of my fears, actually, I don't think I would make a good mom.

KING: Because?

J. JACKSON: I don't -- I don't know. I'm so afraid, because there are so many things I want to do in life still, and I would never want to abandon the child, and that is a really big fear. There are people that I have seen that I know and they stick the child with the nanny.

I think I mentioned this to you before -- and I never -- I never want to do that. And it is such a selfish thing. So I -- like, if I am to be a mother, I'm to be a mother, which will probably always be with me, but it is a fear of mine.

Jackson Denies Being a Mother

Janet Jackson says she is not a mother. In a terse statement released Wednesday, the 39-year-old singer denied a former brother-in-law's claim that she has a "secret" 18-year-old daughter.

"I do not have a child and all allegations saying so are false," Jackson said in a statement released to the syndicated "Access Hollywood" TV show.

A call to Jackson's publicist by The Associated Press Wednesday wasn't immediately returned.

On Friday, Young DeBarge, the brother of Jackson's ex-husband, James DeBarge, said Jackson and his brother had a child named Renee who was living with Rebbie Jackson, Janet's oldest sister.

"James and the Jackson family kept everything real close, real tight," Young DeBarge said on New York radio station WQHT, known as Hot 97. Jackson and James DeBarge, a singer in the former R&B family group DeBarge, were married for three months in 1984, when Jackson was just 18.

Jackson secretly married Rene Elizondo Jr. in 1991. They separated in 1999. She is now dating Jermaine Dupri. Young DeBarge, 28, is promoting his debut album. (AP)

Supposedly, she's secretly married to Dupri now too.

Yeah, I heard the Dupri rumour too, but I doubt they are.

You know, this "secret daughter" has been around for ages. I never read too much into it. Janet probably got a bit of a bump for a while in the 80's and people started to talk.

The thing is, the article(s) (and the claim) makes no sense. 18 year old daughter, Janet married when she was 18 - divorced a year later.... she's 39 now. The math just doesn't add up.

I know.

That's why the rumours started that she had three kids  a 21 yo, an 18 yo and a 16 yo I can see her MAYBE hiding one pregnancy back then, but three? That's just stoopid.
