Official solved/unsolved mystery thread. |
| Posted by: Whidden | | Aight, I can't keep track of all the cliffhangers and questions, and flashbacks,
by the time the mystery is answered, I don't remember what the question was. So I'm going to make a list and update it, with the main questions that are raised, and then update it on a regular basis.
They will be in no particular time order, just as I think of them. Post your own, and I will add them to the list here at the top when I get time.
LOST QUESTIONS:
GROUP ONE UNSOLVED
Who is the "him" that Zeke referred to?
Answer:still unknown.
Who wrote or drew the map on the bunker door, that you can only see with a black light? Answer: Still unknown, some speculate it may have been Kelvin.
Who are the others?
Answer: still unknown. Though we are learning more and more about them. They may be part of what's left of the Dharma inititive. They dress in rags and beards on purpose, but are really clean and shaven.
Why did the HATCH lid/cover say "Quarantine" on it?
Answer: Still unknown
What do the others want with WALT?
Answer: still unknown
Whats the deal with the numbers?
Answer: still unknown
The monster is a security device of the Island, but who controls it, and how does it work?
Answer: still unknown
Did Desmond have something to do with the supernatural healing of Jacks patient/wife?
Answer: still unknown
Locke has had a few "visions", where he has been guided to do certain things, like find the plane with drugs in it, and find the hatch. What or who is causing this?

What was the "incident" at Swan station, that made it nessesary to "hit the button"?
answer: still unknown
What happens if you don't "hit the button"?
answer: the end of the world. But as for the rest of it, how that would happen, or if it is true. For now, it's still a mystery.
Question: When Sayid found the cable in the sand that lead him to the french lady's lair, the other side of the cable went into the ocean - where does that cable lead?
Answer: Still unknown.
What are the liquid meds that Desmond was shooting up, and later took with him, when he ran away?
Answer: unknown
Why do the "others" want children? (kidnapping of the crazy french ladies baby, kidnapping of Walt)
Answer: unknown. Though Goodwin did say that the "others" only wanted "good" people. And the monster seems to let good people go, so there is speculation that it may be why the others want kids. But nothing is clearcut on this issue.
What is under all the many feet of concrete, that has a magnetic attraction? (pulls Jacks key)
Answer: unknown
GROUP TWO SOLVED
When Jack entered the HATCH for the first time, he saw some tennis shoes on the floor. Whose tennis shoes were those?
Answer: Those were Locke's, he took them off in a later episode, during a flashback, I guess so he could be "stealthy".
Who is "HIM"? When Desmond meets Locke for the first time, he asks Locke if he is "HIM".
Answer: Desmond was looking for a replacement from the Darhma group, to relieve him of his duty.
What happened to the Crazy French Lady's kid (female named Alex), after it was kidnapped by the others?
Answer: She is still with the others, she helped Claire to escape the medical hatch. Looks about 16 now.
Did Walt make a Polar Bear appear on the Island, and if so, How?
Answer: It looks like it might be part of the research station, a bear that escaped, but as part of the zoo-ology project. Also, on the map it mentions the bear and gene therapy. So the Polar Bear was something that was part of the Island experiments.
Who knocked Sayid in the head, and messed up the transmitter thingy?
Answer: Locke.
If Sierradaddy and Sun were on the beach, would there be kissing involved?
Answer: Yes, you can bet on it.
Why does the monster kill some members of the crash, (the pilot) and leave others alone(LOCKE) ? Can it read minds and intentions?
Answer: It looks more and more, like it reads your history, then makes a judgement on whether to leave you alive or not. This happened in detail with Mr. Ekko.
As he saw scenes of his past life in the black smoke monsters inards.
Who is Alvar Hanso?
answer: the head of Hanso Corp, funder of the Darhma inititive, wealthy Danish arms dealer, industrialist.
Where did Walt get the comic book with the Polar Bear, that was in Spanish?
Answer: Hurley had the comic on the plane. | | Reply To this Message

I would like to speculate that the execute button controls the security devices on the island. The "monster" and the shark, etc....Polar bear? It did seem like from the film the polar bears might be part of a seperate project.
Concerning Shannon seeing Walt and other visions people have had maybe something is causing holusinations (how do you spell that?). Can magnatism cause that? | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: frogglegs | | But didn't Sayid say that the only time he'd seen concrete pored the way it is under the "hatch room" was at a nuclear reactor? It could set off a nuclear chain of events that really would bring about the end of the world... | | Reply To this Message

Yeah, Chernobyl, which was a blown reactor, and they had to pour concrete over it to keep the radiation from getting out.
The "incident" that Marvin Candle (creepy guy in orientation movie) talked about, must have been a real zinger.

| Posted by: Lawless | | It will be interesting to find out WHY there is so much concrete, and if it's what Sayid said... or, something altogether different. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Sandy June | | I don't know for sure where to post this. Anyway, I think that the pirates are seperate from the "others". I think they use the children to bargain with. That is how they have stayed alive. The others want children obviously for some reason. Maybe they can't have any of their own. I think the pirates took Walt to barder or bargain with. | | Reply To this Message

4. What happened to the Crazy French Lady's kid (female named Alex), after it was kidnapped by the others?
Answer: Still unknown
[/B] |
Just a hunch, but my guess is that when The black dude and Jin were hiding in the bushes and the others walked by and you saw their feet and legs and everything, and then you saw a kid with a teddy bear on a string, that kid with the teddy bear is probably Alex. That's my guess...
(I think this was in the most recent episode. 2x5, or maybe 2x4?)

A good theory, but I think the kid was too young.
Alex would be 15 to 16 years old now. The French lady was preggers when they got shipwrecked, and the message has been playing for 16 years.
Plus, I think I remember somewhere it said Alex is a girl, not a boy.
they tricked us with that name. they trick me all the time about everything.

| Posted by: Sayzak | | I love the trickery in that show. Like how Bernard turned out to be a white guy. How the preview of Jin speaking english was only Hurley's dream. How the "others" weren't actually the others, but they were in attack mode because of the others... | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Music_Chick152 | | the french lady said alex was her daughter when she had stolen clairs baby i think.....
that teddy bear, i think it belonged to that little boy, the one with the sister that ana promised that they would see their mom again, he had a teddy bear right after the crash. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: flying panda | | I havent seen any of the second series yet, We dont get it till later this month ... i dont mind having episodes spoiled ... My question is
Where the guys who took the kid (cant remember his name, but hes the one with the dog) the "others" or were they pirates? also were they the same people who took the french womans child (ie the others) | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Sandy June | | I won't say anything about tonights episode in here or David will have my head on a platter. I will try to answer your questions though. We think the people who took Walt (Michael's son) were the "others". We don't know for sure. We don't know for sure how many goups of people are on the island. We also think the "others" took the french ladies baby. There is a lot of information about Lost on these threads. David has made a thread somewhere with a lot of our unanswered questions. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Pippin | | I think that every time more people come to the island (which seems to be often) Others get killed off. They want to replenish their stocks of crazy creepy people, so they take people from the groups that come to the island. Like I've said before, children would be more willing to adapt to life as an Other than adults would. That's what I think, anyway, about why they take kids. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Pippin | | If Desmond was in a race around the world, why did he end up on a little island that (almost) no one knows about? Is it connected to something else? | | Reply To this Message
|
| Posted by: Lawless | | Well, like the guy in the vault, who was traveling around the world in a hot air balloon... they could both be a part of the "behind the scenes" that we've yet been allowed to see.
I think that it's a little strange that they were both doing something, around the world, and ended up there. | | Reply To this Message

I got the idea he was in some kind of boat race. Maybe sailboat.

| Posted by: Pippin | | Than why would he be training by running all the steps of a stadium? I guess it had to be a mix of both, because you can't race around the world on foot. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Whidden | | I updated the first thread, and did away with the numbered questions, then broke them into solved and unsolved.
The list is getting unruly on it's own, but still, it's needed. I re-read through them, a lot has been answered on this show, they just keep giving you new stuff to question, which is what makes it so interesting. | | Reply To this Message
