Who is "Him"?????

Lost - Season Two Forum

Desmond asks Locke... "Are you him?" And when Locke says yes, we see this almost relieved look on Desmonds face. Why is that? Who IS this "him" and what is the reason that Desmond is waiting for this person?

Also, when Locke said that he was "him" Desmond asked some question, that I couldn't hear. But, on another board, they are saying that this was the "secret" question:


"What did one snowman say to the other snowman?"

"snowman"? I thought he said something about sillouettes or shadows. Snowman... weird. This is gonna be a hard code to crack.

I guess I expected it to have more significance to the show...

is "him" suposed to like, relieve him of his duties of whatever he does?

When Jack and Locke are watching the movie, doesn't the narrator say something about someone coming in a certain number of days (and I can't remember how many days he mentions) to relieve Desmond and the guy who originally was with him and who got "sick" and died? Could that be who Desmond is referring to as "him"?

That film was REALLY old... from the 70's... and Desmond had only been there 3 years. So, I don't know. It's possible that this happens, time and time again... where it changes when someone else arrives on the island. Who knows.
