Where did Snape and Malfoy go? |
| Posted by: hazel_dragoneye | | I have wondered if Snape had ever wanted to bring Harry to his death long after he was born.
Dumbledore thought wrongly when he suggested that Snape had not heard the last of the Dark Lord's prophecy so therefore did not know the relationship between Harry and the Dark Lord.
After Dumbledore dies, Snape flees Hogwarts with Malfoy and some of the other Death eaters.
I have often wondered where they might be since Malfoy wasn't at the end of the year ceremony or for examinations, neither was Snape.
Where o where can they be? | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: adityamahesh | | After Snape killed Dumbledore, there weren't any end of year ceremonies or examinations. So whether they were there or not is not even valid. Plus they couldn't just stroll in and take part in anything, could they?
As for where they are, I suppose they are into hiding like the rest of the Death Eaters and Voldemort.

Snape did not hear the entire prophecy. If he had, then Voldemort never would have gone after Harry in the first place. The spell caused him to be thrown from his body and live like he did for years. Voldemort's mistakes show that he did not know the full prophecy.

| Posted by: hazel_dragoneye | | It would be interesting if we could really know where Malfoy and Snape are hiding. They could have left the wizarding world and lived among muggles or the Death eaters could hide them in their basement or something.
They could all chill out until its time for Harry to go back to school and they come out
Maybe Snape could drive Harry to school in one of those flying cars. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: fuscia | | I want to know what exactly Snape was doing with Wormtail? Does Voldiepoo want Wormie, wait, my cat has a toy named wormie, grrr er um Wormtail to try to teach Snape to be an animagus? I wonder if the Dark Lord thinks that a "talentless" bit of wizard like WT can become one, then surely his death eaters can. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: adityamahesh | | Who knows, Snape might be one already. It seems to be an animagus' own responsibility to register with the ministry.

| Posted by: fuscia | | Possibly, but there were only 7 registered. We know of only 4 non's for all the century. It appears that you could be strong but not able to do this feat. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: adityamahesh | | All I am saying is that if the Marauders could do it while at school, Snape could have become one as well and not tell anyone about it. I suppose it's dangerousness is what keeps most people from it.

| Posted by: fuscia | | True. The other question is what would he turn into? You get what you get. What if he turned into something totally useless? | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: adityamahesh | | I don't think you get what you get. Seems like you choose the animal you want to become.
I think his animagus would be a skunk.

| Posted by: fuscia | | Actually they don't get to choose. You get the animal that is the most like you.
Question and answer by JKR
Q09: Does the animal one turns into as an Animagi reflect your
personality?
JKR: Very well deduced, Narri! I personally would like to think
that I would transform into an otter, which is my favorite
animal. Imagine how horrible it would be if I turned out to
be a cockroach!
Oh and keep in mind that Petigrew cut off his finger, so the rat form of him was missing a toe. McGonagall and Rita Skeeter both wear glasses, and that became part of their animagus markings. Snape would not be a cheerful looking animal. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: gaboman | | I'm thinking possum
But on topic, I don't think it matters where Snape and Malfoy are hiding, because it would most certainly be somewhere we've never heard of. They're obviously in hiding. Perhaps Malfoy could get away with going home to his mother, or - more than likely - he's fallen deeper into the world of the Death Eaters.
Sherry makes a good point about Wormtail. Why was he there? Why was it so important that JKR would show us that? (it could be nothing, but... I just feel it was too random to be nothing). | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: hazel_dragoneye | | I think its so very interesting and probably will be important in the seventh book where Snape and Malfoy are hiding. It could be a surprise which is so very likely because J.K. uses plenty of plot manipulation and wit.
Also, I would love to transform myself into an animal. It would probably be a giraffe, they are so graceful and beautiful. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: fuscia | | Well Grant, having Wormtail out of his place does give Voldie more alone time with his snake.
Why team Snape and Wormtail? Snape is a brilliant potion master, and Wormtail is an animagus. I don't see a connection yet. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: fuscia | | She did say. It was in POA on page 351. "......and I went and looked Professsor McGonagall up on the register, and there have been only seven Animagi this century, and Pettigrew's name wasn't on the list-" Hermione | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: CelticDragon | | People also tend to physically resemble the animal their personality resembles in the HP world. Snape's cloak has been referred to as making him look like a big bat, so maybe his Animagus would be a bat. He does prefer the dark and dungeons.
I don't have any idea of where they might be specifically, but I don't think they'd go back to Spinner's End. On an off-note, I think JKR chose that name because it was approaching time for Snape to stop 'spinning tales' about his intentions- or at least stop some of the tales. | | Reply To this Message
