A movie by Tim Burton

Victor (Depp), a villager in a small 19th-century European town, is taken to the underworld to marry a corpse bride (Carter). Surprisingly, the afterlife isn't that disagreeable, and it's a lot more exciting than his strict Victorian society. Meanwhile, his live wife-to-be, Victoria (Watson), is left behind in the land of the living.

I saw the trailer a while ago, looks hilarious.

Link to the trailer. They are reusing the music from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Still, I want to see this one.

It does look good. Apparently they got half of the cast of Chocolate Factory to record voices for the movie while they were filming. That's why a lot of the cast is the same.

I want to go see it. I hope that I can get a sitter.


Is it me, or does all Danny Elfman music sound the same?

He does seem to have a catch-tune he sticks to. He's had some variations of it though.

Yeah, he varies a bit, but you can always tell that it is his music.

Yeah, but you get the same thing with a lot of composers. Some variate their music a lot more than others, but when you break it down, you can recognize their signatures.

Danny is just super obvious. He must really like his work that he did on Nighmare.

Meh, it wasn't bad. I wasn't particularly blown away.

To be honest, I haven't seen Nighmare in a while (like 5 years-ish). I have it on my DVD rental list and plan to get it around Christmas this time this year.

I hope that the Corpse Bride is much better. It looks good.

Nightmare was great, and this one looks good too. I know what you mean about Danny Elfman's music, you can always recognise it, but I think it is different.

He does favor those heavy brass lines doesn't he.

This movie looks great! I saw the trailer ages and ages ago, and wanted to see it ever since.

You're right about Danny Elfman's music, his scores do sound pretty similar, but the main thing is, they all sound awesome! ^_^

I saw it on Friday. I really liked it. I thought it was a bit short, it was only 90 min, but still, a good movie.

I saw it Saturday night. It was good, but I probably won't see it again. And I still had Serenity in my system from the night/morning before, so this one seemed shoddy in comparison.

Well, I liked the HP trailer better than the movie, but you know I love my HP. Is it November yet?

Aw man! I missed a HP trailer?! We got to the movie after the trailers had already started At least I got to see the trailer for that movie with Colin Firth

Didn't end up watching it, but the wife did. I got drunk with a mate instead.

Yeah, she said she wants to watch it with me. She said the music was very good (she hasn't seen Nightmare Before Christmas before), and I said it was the same guy who did the Simpsons theme. She stopped for a second... thought... and then said "oh, yeah"

Ah yes, a cartoon about necrophilia. Fun for the whole family!
