| Posted by: Heatherhobbit | | What do you think was Snape's reason for making the Unbreakable Vow? Was he truly concerned for Draco's safety? Did he do it because of his friendship with Narcissa? Did he do it to show allegience to Voldemort? Did he do it because Dumbledore asked him to? | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: flying panda | | I think it is a mixture between something between him and Dumbledore, and to show allegience to Voldy, or even just to prove to the deatheaters that he's on there side, i dont think they trusted snape very much | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: adityamahesh | | Voldemort trusted Snape very much, even before he killed Dumbledore. Otherwise Snape wouldn't be alive. As I have said before, Snape is on his own side, and he chooses that which profits him most, or keeps him alive.

| Posted by: fuscia | | I think he did it because of Bellatrix. I believe that there is a rivalry to be Voldies favorite death eater. He could not refuse his old friend Narcissa and give Bella something to hold over his head. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: adityamahesh | | I don't think Snape agreed to the Unbreakable Vow only because he wanted to appease or correct Bellatrix about his allegiance. Snape is a very calculating person and weighs everything before making a decision like that. Before he agreed to make the Vow, his face became blank and unreadable for a few minutes. He was doing some fast thinking about whether it would be profitable for him to make the Vow or not.

| Posted by: gaboman | | The problem with that M, is that no matter what it was of no profit to take said vow. The vow brought him the possibility of death if he didn't follow through with it. The only other thing it brought him was the trust of Bellatrix, which I imagine was important at this time in his evil, cunning plan.
Though maybe those women manipulated him. Yeah, yeah, think about it... when... when your wife says I want to go to such and such a place, "but I wont ask you because I know you wont go..." don't you automatically want to go for some unknown reason? That's what they did to Snape! | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: flying panda | | but i think the trust of Bellatrix will filter down to the rest of them, it was a big jesture he did, and perhaps Bellatrix will stand up for snape against the other deatheaters in book 7 you never know | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: CelticDragon | | I can't see her standing up for him, but she'll either be more reluctant to put him down (not likely), or find herself unable to do so to any great degree. | | Reply To this Message

I don't think he would have had much problem with killing Dumbledore, since it is easier to fight known enemies than unknown ones.

You are right on the money here, poor Snape got manipulated by the evil twisted women. I think I am becoming wary of women in general, except my mother.
