Our cat Scarlett. She crawled up on my truck engine years ago, while a stray, and I tore the living tar out of her when I started the engine.

The vet did a bunch of stuff, but she still twitches her lip where she has a scar, so we named her SCAR-lett.

She has been our cat since then.

I got drunk and created "Flower mountain", which was left over construction dirt in a pile, some seed mix, and one drunk Dark Tower rose seeing David, that in his drunken stupor, decided to plant the seeds on top of the pile of dirt, and call it "Flower Mountain".

It turned out good, but sadly had to be destroyed, to use the dirt for holes in the yard.

we put some of the bird houses and feeders on the porch, so the birds will come up on the porch, which they do,

I got dive bombed by a black headed titmouse yesterday, but we got other bird feeder and bird houses out in the yard,

which the bird house has birds living in it, and the feeders have to be refilled weekly,

we have lots of Blue Jays, Blue birds, Cardinals, titmouses,

and this week, a boatload of black crows who were migrating.

Reply To this Message

Posted by: Whidden

we got a second wave of black birds today, literally hundreds of them.

they cover the yard, and are very very noisy. But in a good way.

I tried to take some pics, but was foiled at every turn. They see anything move, and they become a black cloud and swoop up into the trees like the HIVE mind of the Borg.

Everytime, I would try to move a little and get a pic, they freak out.

However, I did mange to get a couple off.

One is some of them in the yard, the other is them in an old wheelbarrow I have that is full of water.

After today, I think I will take the wheel off of it and turn it into a bird fountain, after I paint it and get it respectable.

Tell the truth, I was a little scared of it myself. But it went back out into the dark.

Didn't get a chance to take a pic. If he comes back, I got the camera by the door now.

Now that I've looked at the other pictures, I'm jealous of your birds. That is one fancy house.

We put up a new fence. It's welded wire, one step above chicken wire, and one step below chain link fence.

The downside: It's wobbly and wavy in parts.

The upside: It keeps the dogs in, let's them roam free. It makes a neato noise when wind blows through it, like wind in pine needles.

That's what I look for in a face: sturdy, safe and makes a really cool noise.

Seriously, I went into B&Q and asked for those specific specs the other day.

Muffin is still the cutest doggie ever. Her big tongue is even cute.

Actually, her tounge is rarely seen. It's smallish, and stays inside her mouth. However, when it's hot and she has been running, that sucker expands to 3 times it's size and hangs out like a fregin St. Bernard tounge.

aight, I just took a pic of her to prove this, it's hard to take pics of dogs, they look all around and don't pose. But here she is 3 minutes ago with an open mouth and no nasty sweaty humongo tounge hangin out.

Our fence turned out real nice.
Muffin's tongue is like one of those cartoon tonges that rolls out of her mouth.
If you notice Winston always looks to Muffin. I think she is his favorite person in this house.
