Whidden's pets, personal pics. |
| Posted by: Whidden | | I got drunk and created "Flower mountain", which was left over construction dirt in a pile, some seed mix, and one drunk Dark Tower rose seeing David, that in his drunken stupor, decided to plant the seeds on top of the pile of dirt, and call it "Flower Mountain".
It turned out good, but sadly had to be destroyed, to use the dirt for holes in the yard.

Becker!!!!!!!
That guy is going to ruin your crystal clean reputation. After you get settled in, and all this tragedy stuff is behind us,
you need to give up regular reports on what Becker is doing day to day, and all the crazy mis-adventures he gets into.

OH, that would be horrible!!!
I better knock them in the head and make them unconscious, before I use them to shoot hoops.

Wow, I agree with Mahesh! All of your cats are just adorable! Some of your cats bare a stiking resemblance to my cats. April looks like Persephone, and Oscar here looks like a short-haired non-droopy-eared version of my favorite cat, Glasses.
Both your cats AND your dogs are cuddly-looking. You lucked out, man. Cats, of course, are always cute, but there are some really ugly dogs out there.

| Posted by: Whidden | | I was out in the yard, reading a book, (Foundation, by Asimov, never read it before),
and up pops this turtle running across the yard, so I took some pics.
I'll post a couple here. I found him fasinating. I wondered where he was going, and why.
But I thought turtles were slow, I seen that weren't true. He was a fast bugger.

we put some of the bird houses and feeders on the porch, so the birds will come up on the porch, which they do,
I got dive bombed by a black headed titmouse yesterday, but we got other bird feeder and bird houses out in the yard,
which the bird house has birds living in it, and the feeders have to be refilled weekly,
we have lots of Blue Jays, Blue birds, Cardinals, titmouses,
and this week, a boatload of black crows who were migrating. | | Reply To this Message
|
| Posted by: Whidden | | we got a second wave of black birds today, literally hundreds of them.
they cover the yard, and are very very noisy. But in a good way.
I tried to take some pics, but was foiled at every turn. They see anything move, and they become a black cloud and swoop up into the trees like the HIVE mind of the Borg.
Everytime, I would try to move a little and get a pic, they freak out.
However, I did mange to get a couple off.
One is some of them in the yard, the other is them in an old wheelbarrow I have that is full of water.
After today, I think I will take the wheel off of it and turn it into a bird fountain, after I paint it and get it respectable.

thanks bubba.
A giant Racoon just come up on the porch and Sandy June is having a panic attack over it.
Tell the truth, I was a little scared of it myself. But it went back out into the dark.
Didn't get a chance to take a pic. If he comes back, I got the camera by the door now.
He was a fat bugger, and a neat looking fellow, I just worry about if the dogs run into him,
in a dog/coon fight, the Coon is meaner.

it says Whidden Ranch on it.
there are closer pics of it in the birdhouse thread. But go easy on me, it's just a birdhouse, and my carpenter skills are suspect at best.

| Posted by: Pippin | | Now that I've looked at the other pictures, I'm jealous of your birds. That is one fancy house.
If I made a bird house it would be a few pieces of wood nailed in a box shape and attached to a tree. Maybe I'd add a perching stick. Yours really does look good. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Sayzak | | I'd rather have 75 degree weather every day.
Minnesota style weather could drive someone absolutely nuts.
35 and drizzling ice/rain one day
78 and humid the next
Flash flood
Fallowed by a blizzard
Tornadoes
Droubt
Sleet
ALL IN ONE DAY!!! | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Whidden | | We put up a new fence. It's welded wire, one step above chicken wire, and one step below chain link fence.
The downside: It's wobbly and wavy in parts.
The upside: It keeps the dogs in, let's them roam free. It makes a neato noise when wind blows through it, like wind in pine needles.

| Posted by: Lawless | | Yeah, that's a big tongue... but, it's so darn cute!!! Ya gotta love Muffin. | | Reply To this Message
|
| Posted by: Whidden | | Actually, her tounge is rarely seen. It's smallish, and stays inside her mouth. However, when it's hot and she has been running, that sucker expands to 3 times it's size and hangs out like a fregin St. Bernard tounge.
aight, I just took a pic of her to prove this, it's hard to take pics of dogs, they look all around and don't pose. But here she is 3 minutes ago with an open mouth and no nasty sweaty humongo tounge hangin out.

Muffin's tongue is like one of those cartoon tonges that rolls out of her mouth.
