Isn't this a lot like the OLED technology? |
it is similar in the way it works, and they could be considered competing technology. we may one day have OLED displays at home to watch HD content, but i'm not sure if e-paper is robust enough for high quality full motion video. but you could still see huge e-paper displays in places like the airport or train station with departure times and such. you could pretty much put either of them anywhere at anytime and not really have to worry about wiring up and powering a big display. they both have great potential in niche areas.

| Posted by: flying panda | | It would appear like magic ... Although i also see if you bring it out alot will be broken or stolen, the world isnt honest enough for it ... you would need to put it behind glass, it would be cheaper to have a screen up ...
I also see books like the Hitchikers guide, you can get micro processors right now, and harddrives the size of ipods, so why not a one page book that changes by remote | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Whidden | | You could have poster stores in the mall with animated posters with scenes from the Matrix,
or Lord of the Rings on them to hang on the wall.
That would be NEATO! | | Reply To this Message
