Horace Slughorn

What will become of Horace Slughorn? Will he go back into hiding? Will he help Harry? Thread open to talk of Sluggy.

I expect that he will continue in his post as Potions Professor.

Its possible he would stay at hogwarts, but i think the flash back he gave to Harry would put him back into hiding.

Now hes kind of started the slug club again i think the taste od peowerful people has lite again

I think that a lot of what Slughorn's actions could be depend on whether the school stays open as a school. If it does remain open as a school, then I think that he will remain there as Potions Master. But if the school does not remain open as a school, then I think that he could go back into hiding, but still be a kind of advisor to Harry.

Slughorn taught Voldemort while he was at school. That past information could be very useful. Plus I think that part of him feels guilty over the Horcrux thing. Now that Dumbledore is *sniff* dead, at least in body, he might be more willing to offer to help.

Well that much power He might even become part of hisown slug club

Well being the new/returned head of Slytherin and possibly getting the deputy job would puff him up.

I see more parties happening if he does stay

I don't see time for parties, or many participants if he does throw a few.

There was time in book 6

I don't think we will really know what is going on at Hogwarts. I envision the last book as having glimpses of Hogwarts, but mostly the adventure of the search for the Horcruxes. Harry will most likely visit those who can help him with information.

Perhaps find that heir of Ravenclaw

My crazy theory is that the mirrors that Sirius had were horcruxes. One was from Gryffindor, the other from Ravenclaw. I did say that it was crazy.

Yeah, there were parties in book six, but that was before Dumbledore was killed, before we were sure that the school would even reopen, before the proverbial sh*t hit the fan.

Now that the war is really on, I don't foresee a lot time for parties, or many students, if there are any students, wanting to or able to attned.

I dont think the mirrors are Horcruxs i think it sais that the maurders made then so james and sirus could talk from different detentions

I didn't say that there wouldn't be any students at all who wanted to attend, I said that I couldn't see a lot of students wanting to.

But what is the point of discussing this? We don't even know if school is going to be open or if Slughorn is going to be there to throw parties.

awww, we are just gossiping. This is INR, it's all good here. We are like family. We don't sling mud or flame like most of the other boards. We are entirely too chatty though.

I think we need to focus more on the fact that Slughorn was in hiding..

It's pretty obvious that one of the reasons he agreed to teach was because he knew he would be safer at hogwarts with * sniff* dumbledore around, and also it provided him with long lasting shelter.

However, now that dumbledore isn't around anymore and now that hogwarts isn't as safe as it used to be, whether or not he is offered positions that would boost his ego, he's going to have to worry about his safety. Because he's obviously hiding something. I really don't think we'll see much of slughorn, even if hogwarts does reopen.

He was most likely hiding because he knows that he told Riddle about Horcruxes. Voldemort would not want that to get around.
