| Posted by: schmiggens | | I don't get it. What's the point? If you have two people looking at the same monitor and seeing different things? It's just confusing. And yeah, what happens when you look head on? What image do you see? Can you switch between the two images?
I guess it could work if you wanted to look at porn at work and have you're boss think you're checking stocks or something? | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Sierradaddy | | Then comes the question about how the sound for each image gets filtered through to the correct person... Wireless headphones? I like to watch tv untethered, thank you. Still, I appreciate that they thought down another tangent to try to develop new applications for the screen. I think it'll take more of that off-beat thinking to come up with good, marketable applications for the screen, but that's just a matter of time. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Larke2000 | | yes, it's more of a novelty now. for computer use, i can't think of much you can do with this. you could surf while someone else watches a movie or something. i think it has some potential if you were to have a multi-user OS so that two people could each have their own mouse/keyboard as each one does separate tasks. internet cafes could use something like this and have two computer's sharing one dual-view monitor or something.
i think the bright spot for me would be to introduce something like this to home theater with some kind of directional audio technology. my wife coud watch lifetime while i watch the matrix. and with highly directional audio we could each listen without headphones. and using noise cancelling techniques we could each watch a movie and still enjoy a full digital surround sound for each video without any audio overlap. so i think with some development (and a lot of time) this has real promise.
in the here and now, i don't think this will get very far without some clever niche marketing like sierradaddy mentioned. | | Reply To this Message
