| i think they are actually going to be making full displays sometime in the future as well using this technology.
i remember seeing this stuff a long time ago on some of those "gadgets of the future" tv shows.
i don't know if you've seen minority report. but if you have, remember the cereal box with the full motion cartoon on the box? and the newspaper that changed headlines in real-time? OLED technology can make some of that kind of stuff very common in the not too distant future.
OLED have some extended-use flaws, but we'll soon see computer and tv monitors using them. they don't need backlights so they can be really thin. and they have a wider viewing angle than lcd screens. sorry to ramble, it's just i've been waiting for these to hit on a mass market scale for a long time.  | |
