Eminem has recently hinted that he may be giving up his crown as rap king at a concert he was doing in ireland. When he steps off the stage Sept. 17 in Dublin, Ireland, he will have made his final concert appearance. "Encore," his slyly titled 2004 release, will stand as the final Eminem album. The reign of Eminem, and his alter ego Slim Shady, will have been voluntarily vanquished.

"Em has definitely gotten to the level where he feels like he's accomplished everything he can accomplish in rap," said rapper Proof, Mathers' right-hand man onstage. "He wants to kick back and get into the producing thing

If Mathers is truly set to shake things up, exactly where he goes from here is unclear. He's not doing interviews this summer, and his spokesman at Interscope Records in Los Angeles declined to comment. Manager Paul Rosenberg said there's been "no official decision" about the future. But he acknowledged that some kind of recalibration is likely, adding that Eminem's latest multiplatinum record is "certainly the cap on this part of his career." Em is currently producing on Dre's upcoming album 'DETOX' which is said to be released beginning of 2006.

I heard he will still be rapping, but not as Eminem or Slim Shady, he's gonna be changing his name like Puffy Combes/ Puff Daddy/ P Diddy.

EMINEM SLAMS REPORTS HE'S RETIRING

Eminem insists he plans to continue with his rap career, despite reports he's set to hang up his microphone.

Last week, reports emerged in the rapper's hometown of Detroit, Mich., quoting sources close to the star as saying he planned to bow out of performing following his current Anger Management Tour.

The rapper's show at Dublin, Ireland's Slane Castle on September 17 was billed by some sources as his last ever live appearance.

But Eminem, real name Marshall Mathers III, tells MTV News, "I'm not retiring. When I say I'm taking a break, I'm taking a break from my music to go in the studio and produce my other artists and put their albums out. That's called taking a break for me.

"When I know my next move, I'll tell everyone my next move. Not some reporter who writes a story about 'This is Eminem's last album'. I never said (Encore) was my last album. I never said anything yet. I don't know what I'm doing yet. Nothing is definite, you know what I'm sayin'? Nothing is written in stone."

According to Ananova, Em said to a Washington audience: "How many of you all read the tabloids? Cause there's some s*** goin' around that I'm retiring." What followed can only be described as classic Eminem behaviour, with him saying: "I'm retiring? Then I guess the moon just blew up." At which point he mooned the audience.

Regardless, even if he swore to everything holy, there is still a check out there with enough 0's to entice him to make with the rap again. Didn't believe the first report when I heard it.
