Just a question:

At Dumbledore's death, was he pleading with Snape? ("...Severus...")

What was going on there? Was it important, did I miss something, or am I reading too much into it?

After Dumbledore had drunk the potion in the bowl, he had become extremely weak. He said to Harry that he needed Snape's help (implying that he needed Snape to make an antidote for him, or atleast temporarily stablize him). I think that is what he was asking of Snape, to help him.

Shouldn't there be a spoiler warning for this thread? Even the name of the thread is a spoiler....

He was doing one of several things, Pleading for his life, Pleading for snape to help him, Pleading for him to kill him so that malfoy wouldnt become a killer

I wonder what will happen to Malfoy...... Lord Voldemort will constantly make him do things for him and threaten his life and his family forever. That is a sad way to live his life, only sixteen and made a servant of Lord Voldemort, but on the other hand he did seem rather glad to be taking orders from him.

And yes, Dumbledore was pleading with Snape to spare his life but it was very smart of him to immobilize Harry.

NO SPOLIER STUFF IN THE TITLES!

I think Dumbledore was pleading with him to end his life, in my opinion. Dumbledore did not fear death. I think he was trying to spare Draco. Note that Dumbledore knew that Draco was trying to kill him all year. That all had to come from Snape.

It might be possible that malfoy mihgt not (power wise) be able to kill him, as the Mad eye moody (the impersonator) said that they might do no more than give him a nose bleed, but you also need to really hate, or really want a person dead to kill them, i dont think that malfoy "hated" Dumbledore,

Draco may be a bully, but he is not a killer. He would not have been crying in the bathroom if he were. I think the key in that chapter is when Draco says he has Dumbledore at his mercy and Dumbledore tells him that it is "his mercy" that is important now.

i didnt really understand that bit, about Dumbledore's mercy is the one that counts ... is that about the spells he has cast and the mercy that that intells?

I think she intended it to be that Dumbledore showed Mercy by having Snape finish the job. He knew that Draco could not do it, and that the other death eaters would. IF Snape did the job, he could look out for Draco as well. Draco's life would be spared, Snape would be in better with Voldemort.

Hm, I don't think Dumbledore wanted to die. Because I honestly think that Dumbledore had a lot more to show and do with harry. I think that in the end snape used occlumency to close his mind to dumbledore, and I think that once again dumbledore made a mistake in trusting him. Even mc gonagall seemed very surprised that snape had done it. I think snape had them all fooled. I also think that whoever pointed out that you need to feel hatred for the spell made a good point. Snape couldn't have killed Dumbledore if he felt nothing but loyalty for him. He had to have felt some want for dumbledores death. And if snape truely was loyal, he would have died himself.

I just want to apologize for not putting "SPOILER" in the title of my post, and also for plainly making the title a spoiler in itself! I was tired...lapse in judgement...didn't even realize it at the time. Anyway, it won't happen again!

But he wouldn't have fallen off the tower, if it wasn't for the spell.

No, we cannot forgive Lokim for the mistake. Lets hang him/her by their thumbs and then make him/her pick good flubberworms from the bad using the toes.

AH I always knew I liked this girl.

The biggest question in the book is what Dumbledore meant when he said "Severus please". I am in the minority with my waco idea, but who knows. We will see who stands were. I'll start a thread on it soon.

Well regardless of what Dumbledore meant Snape has sealed his fate. He can only work for Voldemort now because Dumbledore was a beloved celebrity of the Wizarding world and Snape killed him so he's destined to death or imprisonment.

True. Still, I wonder if Snape will face Harry again. Perhaps he will, but you know that the Order will be looking for him and wanting revenge.

I recon either Harry will get him or Remus. Harry isn't quite ready to fight Snape, as was proved at the end of the last book.

Mind you I would like to see Snape vs. Moody.

OOOO Snape vs. Moody. That would be awesome! Man I would not want to be Snape if Moody finds him. He may be old and paranoid, but I would bet that he could give Snape a run for his money.

I remember reading a confirmed rumor on a site last year that Lupin would play a large role in the last book. He is the last close link to James.

Well I suppose Remus has to play a larger part since he hasn't featured much since the third book. Perhaps he will be with Harry at Godrics hollow.

Who knows what Harry will find there. I dont think that we have seen the last of Harrys training, there is a lot expected of him and he doesn't seem quite ready, so who knows perhaps Remus will teach him again.

Then there is the inigma of Draco Malfoy. What part will he play in the final reconing of the saga?

Yes, that's what I'd like to know too. Was the whole Draco story just a prequel for Snape killing Dumbledore? Or is Draco serious about becoming a Death Eater?

Why was Draco unable to kill Dumbledore, anyhow? Was it because he couldn't do against his conscience or was it because he's just not good enough as a wizard?

Narcissa Malfoy obviously loves Draco very, very much... Maybe getting to feel love in his life has prevented Draco from being able to truly become a Death Eater. Even though he's a prat and everything... I think there is a good chance that he'll cross to the good side.

But if thats the case how can Narcissa be a death eater, because she loves her son? Voldemort never had a child to love, nor did he get love from his parents

Narcissa is a Death Eater??? I can't believe I missed that ... Is it actually written somewhere? Because I tended to think she's too much of a lady to go around killing people and making messes.

shes a malfoy, its possible ... or is she married into the family? still shes got to be pro death eater

It's definitely possible, it just seemed to me that she cares about her family far more than her sister Bellatrix... Even though she's supporting them and living with them, I don't think Narcissa is a Death Eater herself. There's too much Mrs-Weasleyish-something in her. Did you notice how all other Death Eaters are emotionless and cynical about everything? Even Lucius Malfoy is terribly harsh with his precious son. I think he doesn't truly love him, but just sees him as an extension of his family line; just like none of the Death Eaters truly love anybody.
