What direction will the order take now that Dumbledore is gone? Will it cease to exist? Will it continue with a new leader and who?

I doubt snape will come back to join it if it does continue, but i think they will meet up, maybe let Harry in, he does know more than, if not all, most of the members, i dont think Dumbledore told many other poeple abotu what he found out about Voldemort

The only ones that know are Harry, Ron and Hermione. Remember that Dumbledore told him to not tell anyone else or let the other two tell anyone.

Snape will not be allowed in the Order. They would kill him. Even if he were doing Dumbledore's bidding, he has no proof.

It will continue to exist with McGonaggal as it's leader. She was trusted to be secod in charge at Hogwarts, why not at the Orde too.Maybe Dumbtdore left a will,in the book I noticed that he knew that he would die soon,it would be a logical conclusion that he left some kind of will that only after his death would appear with instruction on what the Order should do next, about the administration of Hogwarts, etc.

I am sure he intented that the Order should continue after his death. The purpose of the Order was to stop the Dark Lord and his follower's.

(when i started posting here there were no replys....You type fast, too fast for me)

He would have left a will. I don't think that McGonagall will lead the order. I think that we will see someone who really knows the death eaters be the leader- Mad Eye Moody.

do you think we will see harry in a meeting?, get to see inside the order?

I think we will. There will information that they can give. It would make sense for him to check in and get information about what Voldemort is up to now.

yup,I think that Harry will now have a place in the Order, him being the Chosen One...
They can't he's too young anymore. He has grown from boy to man in book 6.

True. He should have a place in the Order. He will come of age, but how much direction will the Order allow him to give? Is it possible that Dumbledore asked for Harry to be the new leader of the Order?

yea, they said in book 5 that they couldn't join the order because they hadden't come of age, but now they have theres nothing that can stop them really is there, unless they dont want them in ... Ginny wont be able to come in though

I think Harry will need to join the order, or in the very least ask for their assistance. Not only is he of age, but Harry will no longer be protected after he has turned 17. He will need to surround himself by his friends, and those who can protect him, and teach him how to protect himself. He will probably also need to live in secret a bit, or lay low when he can just as sirius did. If Grimmauld place is still intact, it could make a great hide out, plus it is probably the closest thing (next to the weasleys) that harry can call home. Also for harry's journey to find the horcruxes, he does not seem to have the connections that dumbledore would have had to getting the information. I suspect that a few of dumbledores most trusted in the order will have information to help him in his search. JKR also made a point to reveal that slughorn had many connections, we don't know just how helpful he will turn out to be in harrys journey too.

I would like to remind all the over-excited people that now there is a portrait of Dumbledore in the headmaster's office. And just like the other portraits, he can talk and guide. Dumbledore is not completely gone. And who knows, they might have another portrait of him in some secret location so that he can communicate to others like Nigellus, Everard and others did.

Slughorn really did like Lilly didn't he. Who knows, now that Dumbledore is gone, he may be up for giving a piece of "useless" information to Harry about old relics.

I fully expect Dumbledore's portrait to be very active. He at the least will have to stop McGonagall from firing Trewalney.

would McGonagall know about the prophecy, if not, what do they talk about in the Pheniex meetings?

Only Harry and Dumbledore knew of the prophesy. Harry was given permission to tell Ron and Hermione, but only them. Remember, Dumbledore did not want it getting out that Harry was the Chosen One for sure.

Yeah, anyone who's inner eye does not concern itself with whooping voices is definitely meant to remain under protection.

But I know what you mean. She will have to be kept safe.

Who else thinks that harry will not be able to defeat Voldemort in a duel even after destroying all the horcruxes and it will be something more spectacular? Fuscia you can make a thread out of this if you want.

Are you thinking of the effect that we got in GOF? Remember the wands could connect again. That would be strange.

but the dark side (may or may not) have olivander (the wand maker) so he could just have another wand made

Dude, Voldemort loves his wand, it is an extremely powerful one. I doubt he would get rid of it just to kill that Potter kid.

I think we would see something more spectacular than just a duel. After all, getting rid of these Dark Lords isn't an everyday job.

But he knew that he couldn't fight Harry with his current wand, so it makes sence to have a second just in case

THAT has to be why Olivander disappeared. He is forcing him to make a new wand!

That maybe the case, but it is too predictable and regular. We need a worthy fight and worthy finale to a worthy series.

Ollivander might have been kidnapped for both purposes: To make wands for Voldemort and his flunkies as well as keep the rest of the World from getting good ones.

Yeah, R. A. B. seems too predictable to me to be Regulus Black. That is why I am not making any predictions as to who that character is.

I can't find any other R.A.B's. Maybe it is a new character.

As for the wand thing, I very highly doubt that voldmort would want another wand. The wand chooses the wizard, there was a reason that those wands chose Harry and Voldmort. Also it is a well known fact that wizards don't get as good results with a wand that wasn't meant for them. If voldmort wants to kill Harry, he's going to want the best results he can get.

I think that the reason that Olivander vanished, is because Voldmort was probably curious as to what happened in GOF. We have no proof that Voldmort even knew about the wand connection in the grave yard. He was probably trying to get information from Olivander as to what happened with the wands. Either that, or Olivander knew he would be coming and fled. Also remember that Olivander remembered every single person who had ever boughten a wand from him. Considering he remembered Voldmorts, we know that his knowledge goes back to over 54 years ago. Olivanders memory might contain a lot of valuable knowledge, even if it doesn't consider Harry. Just think of how many students have passed through. And I'm sure his life hasn't completely revolved around wand making. Olivander might remember something from before his wand making days that could be very important to Voldmorts plans. As we've seen in the 6th book, memories can be extremely important, and Olivanders memories would be a very reliable source.

Maybe just maybe Voldemort is looking for a new relic? He likes to collect things.

There is however one problem: Only the Death Eaters call Voldemort the Dark Lord.

M.

p.s. Now there are only two people left who call Voldemort by his name. That makes me think Lupin is going to die in book 7.

That is true, so it HAD to be a death eater.

Hermione still has trouble with the name. Only Lupin and Harry are comfortable with it.

I still think Lupin will die.

Just a thought. Out of the Maurauders only three of them were true friends-James Lupin and Sirius. They were the three who worked faithfully for the order. Now it is Harry, Ron and Hermione who are going to the fight.
