Occasionally you come across a book or movie that stays with you after reading or watching it. It could be a chill out of the blue, a swell of nostalgia, etc.

The first half of War of the Worlds felt like it was going to be one of those, but then....

Another recent one for me was a book called Dead Biitch Army by Andre Duza www.houseofduza.com. I was really surprised by the author's vision and what he had to say. I was expecting a fun little horror tale, but I got a culty, dark, scary, humorous, satirical adventure. Highly Recommended.

Here's the description from back cover of the book:

"Step into a world filled with racist teenagers, masked assassins, cannibals, a telekinetic hitman, 100 warped Uncle Sams, automobiles with razor-sharp teeth, living graffiti, cartoons that walk and talk, a steroid-addicted pro-athlete, an angry black chic, a washed-up Barbara Walters clone, the threat of a war to end all wars, and a pissed-off zombie biitch out for revenge."

So, what are some of your memorable books/Movies?

One book I read ages ago that had a real impact on me was called "Livin' Large" by Sue Williams, it explores various multi-cultural teenager's lives growing up in the 90's in suburban Australia. It was the first kind of "grown up" book I ever read.

Another one is Flowers in the Attic by Virginia Andrews. That books and the entire series never fails to suck me in, even I know the story do well by now.

I've never read or seen War of the Worlds, but I know the CD story almost off by heart, my mum used to play it all the time. Ullah!!! I am going to read it next.

There's another book I read once about a guy who's girlfriend is pregnant and she wants to give it up for adoption so he steals the baby from the hosital in an effort to keep the child.

One more that's very thought-provoking book is "My Sister's Keeper" by Jodie Picolout whichh I finished not long ago. A story about the life of a girl who was born via IVF as a "designer baby" with genes perfectly matched to that of her sister who had very aggresive cancer and her struggle to find her reasons to live apart from being a lifesaver for her sister.

Thats it for now.

When I was a teenager, having problems with my parents, I had to read a novel for school.
The Catcher in the Rye. One of my all-time favorites, because it seemed to be written just for me at that time in my life.
