Dumbledore dies.
So does Ron.
And Hermione.
And the Dursleys.
As does Ms. Figg.
And Lupin.
Wormtail also carks it.
Hagrid bites the big one too.
As do Mr and Mrs Weasley.
Ginny dies too.
Fred and George hit each other with death spells simultaneously.
Colin Creavy is beaten to death by a celebrity.
Moaning Myrtil is still dead.

Don't make me "pull a Dave" on both of you.

Did anyone else think R.A.B was Regallus Black? Perhaps the mirror that sirius gave harry is one of the horcrux?

That was the first thing I thought, about Regalus Black. I dont know about the mirror. Argh, I cant believe I'm going to be 17 when the last book comes out! The first one came out when I was 7!

I was blaming God for my unhealthy obsession with Jo Rowling's masterwork. I haven't addressed myself as Lord since I was 16. Man, what a night that was.

Who was surprised that patronuses were the method of communication between members of the order? I know I was. And I am really curious to know what are their patronuses. Dumbledore had probably a phoenix and Snape would most likely have a snake, but I am not sure.

how you know about the snake?

I am guessing Panda, that is why I said 'most likely' and 'I am not sure'.

I was. She never explained how a patronus can deliver a message. Odd method huh? Snape would be either a snake, a weasle, or a spider.

I also had an idea today. We always thought that Wormtail's silver hand is to kill Lupin. What if Wormtail ends up saving Harry by killing Grayback with it instead? For all we know, Grayback may be after Harry real soon. We do know that Wormtail owes his life to Harry and Dumbledore did mention that by saving his life there was some kind of bond between them.

Dumbledore definitely had a phoenix for a patronus. Remember in the 4th book when Harry left Krum with the babbling Mr. Crouch? They came back to find Krum knocked out, and Crouch gone.. Dumbledore sent a silvery phoenix out of his wand, and Hagrid came running.

I was surfing another site this weekend after I finished the book. No one was on here. I was shocked to see how many people were upset that Harry and the others were kissing. They thought there was too much murder in the book too. I guess they don't understand what a war is.

The bit about Harry having a beast in him, talking to him ... self

Knowing Americans as I do..they will probably be more upset over the kissing part then the killing part.
Did anyone notice how fast Harry learned the spells from the book?
And Hagrid also..Just by reading the incantation...i thought it was something more complex

Posted by: flying panda

when did Hagrid read a spell and do it? the spell in the end to put the fire out harry just told him

Reply To this Message

Posted by: Nion

that was the one i meant..but i was saying that he learned the spell fast, just by "hearing"(my bad) the incantation

Now that would be cool. Lupin used to be Peter's friend, and let's face it, if ANYONE could get any human emotion out of Wormtail, I think Lupin could. It would be interesting if it was WT to save Lupin by killing Greyback.

Question where is everyone getting this idea that wormtail will kill Lupin? Lupin also a double agent now, and could potentially be very harmful to wormtail, if he ever chose to bite him. When reading the unsolved mysteries of HP, WWP speculated that voldmort could control wormtails hand, or use it against him. I think that this hand of wormtails may be used as a way of forcing wormtail into doing things no one else will want to do. We don't know how much control voldmort has over what he gave wormtail, or if he has any. But we do know that voldmort never does anything except for his own benefit.

I wonder what Voldemort was going this year, because we didnt see him, just memories of him

Reply To this Message

Wormtail has a silver hand so it was definitely considered a possibility that Lupin might die (literally) by Wormtail's hand. But now we have Grayback's character in the story, he might be killed by Wormtail instead as I previously theorized.

I just don't see Lupin as dying. He is the last of the maurauders. He will outlive Wormtail. Greyback will go.

What Voldemort was doing this year, barking orders at the dementors and giants. Most likely scheming to get rid of Dumbledore and playing the Dark Lord to the hilt.

Yeah. I think he got some new robes and replaced his old contact lenses as well. The old ones were just not red enough anymore.

He might have gotten a black teddy bear with fangs to keep him company in bed too, but I am not sure.

Hm. I wonder if Fleur will come in handy in book 7. My gosh I can't believe we're waiting for the last book already..
Anyway, we know that veelas are related to the sirens found in ancient greek mythology. The sirens were actually very deadly. We know that Fleur is probably not on voldmorts side, and she may end up being a great ally if she can convince the veela to side with the ministry and the order.

That is an excellent point. She also feels indebted to Harry for his bravery with her little sister in the lake. Fleur seems to be fiercely loyal.

I totally think that Voldie will go after Gryffindor's sword. He may not use it as a horcrux, but he will still want it for his collection. That may be a way to lure him into a trap too.

Reply To this Message

I'm with you on that, Sher... he definately wants the collection of 4 items, from the founders. They are "priceless" and he loves those rare things. Will he get it? I don't know... but, I don't think that we've seen the last of the sword, just yet.
