| Posted by: fuscia | | Makes total sense. You knew it would come, but you didn't want to believe it. I always imagined him going out in a blaze of glory, but who is to say that Dumbledore did not forsee all of this? How do we know that he did not intend for Snape to spare Draco and kill him? Harry needs to know total hatred to want others dead for him to have a chance against Voldiepoo. Hating Snape and Voldie could do it. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: White Tiger | | I can't say that I loved it. I enjoyed it, but not loved it.
The story was, as I've come to expect, original but in truth I have read stories on Fanfiction.net with about the same standard of writing ability. Not taking anything away from J.K. Rowling but I fell that the third and forth books were better. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: daemon17 | | Well I thought that the beginning was the best out of all 6 of her beginnings. I thought that her ending was the worst thing ever. I personally hated the end, because dumbledore has been my favorite character since I was 11. The thought of his death still makes me want to cry.
Oddly, I thought that the middle of the book, from ch. 4 to maybe ch. 25 ish was very very.. normal. It did not give me the constant suspence, and excitement that I got in the other books. Perhaps this was because there were less attacks, and all of Harrys ideas about malfoy, seemed down played by the other characters. I also found the book to be a lot funnier than all the other ones. There seemd to be a lot more jokes, and puns, and funnier scenes. Perhaps this was just JKR's way of giving us a good laugh, before the depressing ending.
I also thought the book focused a little too much on everyones " snogging". But I'm sure JKR had her reasons for this, one of the biggest ones being to show just how consuming the power of love can be. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Lawless | | While I loved this book, it was not the best, in my opinion. Though, there were many questions answered that we've been waiting on for a long time. The book was well laid out, for the final battle that we all know is coming at the end of book 7... and I can't wait to see the journey that Harry makes to Godric's Hollow, and if Ron and Hermione will go with him.
This book was well worth the wait... though, another two years for the final outcome is going to be agonizing. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: bluejeanbaby | | I think that this is the best written book in the whole series so far. In fact, I'm not sure how she's going to top this one. It's not my favorite, PoA will most likely always be my fave, but this one just ties so much of the story together so well. And it's one of the fastest reads of the whole series. Those last few chapters don't stop, at all. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: fuscia | | Bluejeanbaby, that post is exactly how I felt about the book and the series. POA was my favorite until this one came out. It was an awesome read.
I also think Snape is on the good side. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Miniluv518 | | I agree with Sherry and Bluejeanbaby. PoA is still my favorite, because of the huge surprise with Sirius at the end, but I think this book was the best written. It was long, but unlike the last book, it didn't feel very long because it all flowed so well. Plus, I was really glad to see that Harry is out of the angsty-teen phase he was in in OotP.
I know alot of HP fans who hate the second book because they say that it's "irrelevant" and "random". I'm glad Book 2 has finally proved its importance!
Something just occured to me: Another reason for PoA to be my favorite is that it's the last of the light-hearted books: the last book with no deaths and the book before you-know-who comes back. | | Reply To this Message
