Thumb Drives Are Cool

I have washed both my b/f's thumb drives several times through full washing machine cycles (he leaves them in his pocketses) and they both still work. Once of them has been washed twice! How are they so water resistant?

wow. i've never submerged my thumbdrive so i don't know how well sealed they are. they are non-volatile solid state media so they pretty much stay the way they are until hooked up to a voltage source (the usb port on your computer). so as long as you are confident that they are COMPLETELY DRIED OUT, the water wouldn't affect them.

i have first hand knowledge of someone washing batches of old dusty video cards in a dishwasher (on a light setting with no detergent) and once they COMPLETELY DRY they work just fine.

but yes, thumb drives are cool.
