I remember when she had this interview with a cub reporter in New York City around 1992 she said, "If there's anything I wanted to do more, I wanted to act." So she does resemble Dakota Fanning in personality because they both love to act.
She did have some drug problems which started, I think, during the summer of 1988 when she was a small twelve year old child. She met up with some drug pushers in San Diego while her mother worked and she went to school. Her mother trusted these individuals to be good people but they were not and as a consequence, Amy picked up their habits.
She began smoking marijuana at the age of twelve and later moved into harder drugs, unlike the kind Dakota Fanning. She was almost arrested when she was fourteen for cocaine, but she escaped in her car which she was unlicensed to drive. When she was fifteen, her mother caught her freebasing cocaine in the bathroom and as punishment, she went to rehab on July 12, 1991.
A month after, she fled rehablitation and hid somewhere in Santa Monica for four to five months. In Januray of 1992, she came out of her hidding and her mother put her in rehab once again. She escaped further up north for three months and was found sleeping in a shack.
She went to rehab once again and did not run away. She came out a better person and in 1993 went to work as an actress. | |
