I got the book earlier from a dude that works at Borders. Just read the last few chapters. Did anyone know one of the characters dies?

We know that a character (or even a number of characters could die in this book, you have to put it in the Spioler threads if you want to talk about it though ... i havent got the book yet, he must be a good mate if he risks his job and sells you the book early

All of the book stores around where I live are selling the books at midnight the night that they're to go on sale.

Lezo from Newsround (a kids news program) has said that a HMV store in edinbourgh had it on the shelves and people read it, but anyone who releases details about it could have legal suits put on them.

According to Amazon.com, the book doesn't go on sale intil July 16th...which is tomorrow.

Yeah, I'm trying to avoid the spoiler threads. I don't want to know about anything that may or may not happen in this book until I've read it Though, on the other hand, I'm pretty sure that my sister-in-law will be more than glad to prematurely fill in all the details for me

Nobody has posted on the spoiler threads, after reading the book that is ...

I still am trying to decide if I want to get it tonight. I probably won't decide until around 9 tonight. Still, I can't wait. Ah yes, I am going to have a nice day tomorrow.

I never understand why you crazies are so hyper about reading the book the day it comes out. The content is not going to change after a few days or months.

Got a problem...

I feel... not happy too. Went to the book store around 11:30, found out we can only get that the same time as England's midnight. I was told I could get it at midnight. Liars!

But that's not the problem... you know, while we were there, some TV news people wanted to film my wife. I went running, because I'm just... not good at that sort of thing. Anyway, the guy begged her to do the interview, that he'd been waiting there for hours for someone interested in it, and she said okay.

We get home... first thing, my sister-in-law calls and says she saw my wife on the news. Not good. First thing they did was zoomed on her breasts, then up to her face. My wife said a few words about it, then she said something about other Countries saying that they get it midnight, we came to see if it would be out here too. Then they cut to the news anchor lady with a snide "Sorry, Miss Hsu, you really should know its 7:00 here." Apparently some other stuff too...

Anyway, my wife called them and yelled at them... told them they most certainly shouldn't play it again, and insulted their technique.

I swear the Taiwanese media are the lowest of the low...

I am sorry you guys had to deal with those bastards. I am glad your wife yelled at them, but I doubt they have even a modicum of shame. Media is same everywhere.

Okay, how depressing is THIS..... I've spent all my money with moving, moving my gf here, bills, and some other things. So now, I can't fricken afford to buy the HP book until August 1st. So, I'm going to be COMPLETELY absent from the HP forum, until I've got the book, and read it. Have fun, peeps... enjoy the book.

I went to the 12:01 opening party in the next town over with my friends. Ate some Bertie Bot's, horded bookmarks, and colored paper dolls. Yes, I went to the party even though I wasn't getting my book at that store or at that time

I was at my friends' house yesterday and this morning, so since I woke up a few hours before anyone else I just snuck into their bedroom and grabbed to book

Hey, FP, what's with this? It's Harry Potter Day and you don't have a Harry Potter avatar? You build all this excitement up to the big day, then you skip out on us with some hippie tie-dye thing when the 16th finally rolls around?

I went to bed early (8 pm), got up early, went to evil Walmart at 4 am (hey, it's the only place open 24 hours), and didn't have to stand in line, fight crowds, pay as much, or read the book on no sleep. Good deal.

She didn't know... but, I've been sick, for over a week, and so, she was pretty sure that I hadn't gotten up on Saturday morning to go to the bookstore.

Grant! you know full well that the big shocker was that McGonagall is actually a guy. er sorry Kris. That just slipped out.

I just got mine today These aren't books that I like to rush through though. I usually only allow myself to read a couple of chapters or so a day so that I don't finish it too soon. I always hate it when I finally come to the end of one of these books

It is a quick read. You just sail through it. I honestly can't wait for everyone to finish and come talk about it. It's a HP forum reunion.

I part of me really wanted to take my time with this one, but the other part of me wanted to read through it quickly so that I could discuss it with my friends.

I do however think that I will limit myself to a ch. or two a day when the 7th book comes out. Because I really do not want the HP series to end, and I'll want to savor it while I can.

I know that you do, Sher... trust me. I will get it done. I've just got so much other stuff going on, and such little time to read.

Ummmmmmmmmm, you two crack me up!!! I heard that Voldie gets bit by Lupin, in his werewolf form, and that he snaps nagini in two, eats the wings off of Buckbeak, and marries Hermione. Is this all true?

Reply To this Message

Posted by: fuscia

no, but Voldemort hears about the magic of Viagra. Well, before he can try it, Nagini eats the whole lot and spends the rest of the book being amorous with who ever comes near her.
