LOS ANGELES - Paris Hilton likes her burgers spicy. The hotel heiress, actress, jewelry designer and entrepreneur will star in a television commercial next week in which she will slap suds on the side of a Bentley automobile and chomp on a thick burger while clad in a skimpy black bathing suit.
Hilton will perform the feat to a rock version of the song "I Love Paris in the Springtime."
The ad for the fast-food chain Carl's Jr. will feature Hilton's signature tag line, which doubles as a reference to the barbecue sauce and jalapenos-pepper laden sandwich — "that's hot."
The 30-second spot will debut nationally on the syndicated show "Entertainment Tonight," on May 17, then go into regular rotation in Western states where Carl's Jr. does business. In late June, the ad will be shown across the midwest to tout a similar sandwich at the company's Hardee's restaurants.
"We're working on trying to make Paris Hilton famous," joked Andrew Puzder, president and chief executive of CKE Restaurants Inc., which owns the two fast food chains.
The company is known for its racy television ads, one of which featured a woman eating a burger while riding a mechanical bull. Another starred Playboy magazine founder Hugh Hefner and several playmates. That ad was condemned by televangelist the Rev. Robert Schuller.
The two chains also tout huge, dripping burgers at a time when other fast-food restaurants are offering more healthy alternatives.
Puzder said his company's ad agency suggested using Hilton.
"She's very appealing to our demographic," which he described as young, hungry guys.
"And it turns out she really loved the burger we wanted her to promote," Puzder said. "We did see her eat a couple of them at the shoot."
The company will feature a 60-second version, which Puzder promises will be "racier," on its Web sites.

| Posted by: schmiggens | | That's a really good shot of Paris. She looks "hot".
And we can confirm from watching the SImple Life and seeing her and Nicole drive through a million Burger Kings, that, yes, Paris actually does eat burgers. unlike most stars who endorse a junk/ fast food. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: schmiggens | | Just watched the commercial: I don't think the commercial's that raunchy, it's sexy and provocative, but it's not full on. They make her look HOT HOT HOT though.
The main thing I noticed wasn't the sex, it was when she's crawling on the ground and trying to eat the burger one-handed, it looks like she's about to drop it. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: adityamahesh | | Another example of 'sex sells'. Put a girl in a bikini, cover most of the page with her and put the motor oil in the corner. The motor oil will still sell. And I don't understand the need for that slutty outfit while eating a burger. I don't think you can eat and have sex at the same time.
BTW, she looks like she is about to have sex with the burger itself.
I have T-mobile and Catherine Zeta-Jones came as my wallpaper by default. Although I wouldn't mind her being scantily-clad, but I am also glad T-mobile isn't asking her to take her clothes off while using a cellphone for an advertisement. They seem to have some sense of decency and what looks reasonable as an endorsement.

So, fast food chain Carl's Jr. wants the Parents Television Council to lighten up. The PTC is mobilizing a million people to voice their displeasure at the restaurant's racy ad featuring Paris Hilton.
The chain's CEO Andy Puzder says they should "get a life."
To that I say, Amen, brother.
Enough is enough, isn't it? Look, people can find most anything offensive these days, and they have every right to. But the same rule applies for the people who don't find things offensive, doesn't it?
So don't buy a burger from Carl's Jr. -- big deal.
Let me ask you this question: Have you ever heard of Carl's Jr. before now? Exactly. The company used some shock value to get some attention, and boy, did it work. Everyone who is screaming about this needs to lighten up.
The commercial is sexy in a trashy sort of way, but it's also funny. In the end though, if the burger's good, the burger's good. Paris or no Paris.
You know, many of us think Hilton is dumber than a box of rocks. But she's not, folks. She's manipulating the system as good as any con artist. She's the new millennium's Madonna, and the more we protest her shenanigans, the longer she'll last, and the richer she'll get.
Get a life, and then Paris will go away once and for all.

I hadn't, but I assumed it was just because I'm not American. Interesting to find out that American's didn't know what it was either. Whatever you think of the ad itself, you've got to agree that the publicity it has generated for Carl's is enourmous. Carl sure knew what he was doing when he made that ad

| Posted by: illuminate | | Um, can someone put Paris Hilton in the Shut The Hell Up forum. If I hear "that's hot" or see her mug on tv or hear that whine one more time...
And I like how she wanted to be more classy after her sex video and went for skanky ho on this ad.

HECK said this in post #6 :
Alright, we need some new candidates.
Paris Hilton- Ok, you were born rich, you're a biotch, you have sex on video, and you're on a lame reality show. You're two hundred pounds of skank in a 90 pound bag. Must be nice to sit around and look pretty while contributing nothing to society. You're famous for being famous. Please, please, please fade away. Oh yeah... and SHUT THE HELL UP!

She looks like she is high all the time. Eyes are all droopy, as if she is about to fall asleep. She is hardly what I would call beautiful. She is not even so-so. She is just slutty.

NICOLLETTE SHERIDAN CALLS FOR HILTON TO BE 'FRIED'
DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES star NICOLLETTE SHERIDAN has called for PARIS HILTON to be "fried" for her "tacky and classless" TV commercial for fast food chain Carl's Jr.
Late last year (04), Sheridan sparked an onslaught of complaints when she shed her towel in a racy American football commercial. The outcry prompted network bosses to apologise.
But Sheridan is disgusted that she was subjected to such a huge backlash while Hilton's ad - which featured the bikini-clad hotel heiress provocatively hosing down a car and eating a burger - was allowed to stay on the air.
She tells Maxim magazine, "It was amazing that for two weeks it was on CNN and all the news channels. If this was something they were upset by, why play it over and over?
"It was ridiculous and a sad commentary on America. The NFL moment was done with humour. It was like a SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE skit! If America is so freaked out by a couple of shoulder blades - give me a break. Such a double standard.
"You look at that commercial Paris Hilton did... I found it dirty. I'm not a prude, but I didn't like it. It was tacky and classless. If you had a small child, you'd be much more offended by that commercial than the one I did. Let's fry Paris Hilton, shall we?"

| Posted by: schmiggens | | I can't stand Nicolette Sheridan, she is a has-been who's been given a last chance and she's wringing it for all she's worth. Well most of the cast of Desperate Housewives are doing the same thing, but at least the rest of them are attractive. Have you seen Nicolette's underwear ads? She looks like mutton dressed as lamb. | | Reply To this Message
