| Internet2, the next generation of Internet is breaking all speed records. Two teams, one from the University of Tokyo and one from Caltech.
The Tokyo team broke the speed record in the IPv4 category by transfering 7.2 Gigabites per second across a network spanning 3/4 across the earth 30000 kilometers.
The Caltech team along with CERN broke the speed record in the IPv6 category by transfering 5.11 gigabites across a network path of nearly 14000 kilometers.
Currently Internet2(R) is in 200 Universities, working with industry and Government. | |
