Anorexia seems to be the style for stars at the moment. Women in Hollywood have always been under pressure to be thin, but it's been taken to a whole new level in the past ten years or so.

I realise that genuine anorexia and other eating disorders are serious and that they stem from deeper problems to do with self-image and all that, but for the moment I am talking about Celebrity Eating Disorders, which I think come about for different reasons than for us "mere mortals".

Obviously they are under bigger pressure to look "perfect" (whatever "perfect actually is) but do any of the girls above actually believe they look better like this?

Nicole Ritchie does look better with a LITTLE less weight than she had before, but as skeletor? No thanks.

I can see the pressure to lose SOME weight, but who is telling these girls to keep going and lose more and more weight? Surely they have someone in their circle of friends who can stop them and say "No, that's too much weight to lose".

Do they actually think that looking like Skeletor will get them more movie roles, or more fans, or another album deal or whatever?

We all know it's unattractive, so why are the stars starving themselves?

PS: They could all just be on hard drug and the weight lose could be a side effect of being a cocaine addict.

I TOTALLY agree, all these girls looked heaps better with a bit of meat on them. Men like to be able to grab a woman and feel flesh in their hands, not bones.
