Harry Potter author JK Rowling has been teasing readers waiting for her latest book.

Rowling has said the latest instalment in the boy wizard's adventures, which will be released on July 16, is one of the best she has written.

She went on to say that she does not think everyone will like Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, although it is one of her favourites.

Rowling, whose wealth has increased to £500 million from £435 million in 2004, is now the ninth-richest woman in Britain.

Her publisher, Bloomsbury, has said pre-orders for the sixth Potter book have "substantially exceeded" expectation.

And the book will have the highest initial print run in US history when 10.8 million copies hit American bookshelves.

That is an extra 4 million than its record-breaking initial print run for the fifth book in the series, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, published in 2003.

Yeah... I'm thinking that someone that we all love will die in this one. Possibly Dumbledore, or one of Harry's closest friends!!!

I just know that I can't WAIT until this book comes out.... I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready.
Though, it IS being released during the middle of our fiscal year end at work.... when I'm doing 7 day work weeks, 10+ hours per day. WHEN IN THE BLOODY HELL WILL I GET TO READ?!!!

I don't know. Someone might die, or maybe the story will take an unexpected turn for the worse.

Or maybe she just sucked at writing this one and wants to keep us away from that realization.

I don't think so... JKR has done an AMAZING job. The HP books aren't the top sellers for nothing! She's put together a story, with so many different twists and turns, and bringing people back for me. Young and old, alike... we're all waiting for this next book.... and she will NOT disappoint us.

she has said that she thinks this book is badly written ... is that what i read, i dont know, but it was something she said ... or is that the best book shes writen, i get those confused

i knew it was one of the two, i think it will be the best as well, but i hear the last one is going to be long, because she wouldnt want to stop writing

Yeah, hopefully long like, The Stand, or longer!!! Whatever.... I just can't wait.

I would love it if it was the full triligy of lord of the rings length, i dont know how i would read it all, but it would be good

I don't think that it would be THAT long... but, it would be awesome!!!

I thought it wasn't supposed to be quite as long as Order of the Phoenix, right? Still, a little long would be good.

The whole "not everyone will like it" thing scares me. I wasn't too thrilled with OotP, and I just worry I wont like Harry Potter at all after this book

Still, keeping my expectations low will make the story kick more butt than if I think it's going to rock

I don't remember, Grant... I thought that she said each one would be longer. But, I just don't know if that's correct.

I liked OotP... it took everything and shifted it into a whole new direction!!!!

Mmm... that's true, it was better the second time I read it. I think I just expected WAY too much. I gotta learn to keep my expectations low, then I'll be blown away when it turns out to be great

I really was happy with it, the first time that I read it... because I loved the darkness that the story took on... the change of things. And I look forward to it getting darker, until the end.

i beleive HBP was always going to be shorter than GoF and OotP. I just sooo want to read it ... I think im going to count the days till it comes out

I'm sure that it will be a VERY long wait... she knows that she won't lose any money, or fans, by making people wait. Plus... she's probably in need of a mental break. I would rather she take her time and make the seventh book the best there is... instead of just throwing it together.

she should take her time, to make it good, but we had a long wait for GoF, like 3 years wasnt it, and i didnt really like waiting for it, i would rather it was here earlier rather thna later, but i want her to take her time ... somewhat of a rock and hard place

Her and her darn breaks. What happens if she gets hit by a run-away Tuk-tuk on her break? What'll that leave us with....

She did say ages ago that she had the last chapter of book 7 done. So, we will get the ending, but not the rest if she is hit by a giant piece of hail from the sky.

Well, it'd be nice to have the entire story, if ever she was to be sucked into a blackhole.

i think she said she accually has the whole story down, she just has to edit it.

You're right Panda, probably has the outline drawn up somewhere, just needs to give it some meat, then slice that meat down and turn it into sandwiches. Then package those and ship them so I can eat them. Mmm... sandwiches...
