TRUMP EYES JACKSON FOR LAS VEGAS GIG

Donald Trump is hoping to give troubled pop star Michael Jackson a new job -- as a resident performer in Las Vegas.

Trump's Las Vegas partners have been courting Jackson to perform at the New Frontier Hotel and Casino.

The establishment's owner Phil Ruffin and partner Jack Wishna have already spoken to the star's representatives about a long-term gig.

Trump and Ruffin are partners in Trump International Hotel & Tower, which is being built behind the New Frontier.

Trump tells Us Weekly, "Everything I do is the best, and everything Phil Ruffin does is the best, and this would be no exception."

Wishna continues, "There'd be moral clauses in the contract," adding that Jackson would draw more than the $80 million Celine Dion grossed in 2004.

Jackson has in the past reportedly been interested in performing in Las Vegas. The superstar is a frequent visitor to the city, where his parents and sister LaToya live.

The 46-year-old singer is currently on trial fighting charges be molested a teen cancer patient at his Neverland Ranch.

I think he'd be too strange for Vegas, he'd cancel shows at a moment's notice to go shopping or to Disney Land or whatever, can you imagine him wandering around Vegas all day everyday? I can't he'd be off at the tdrop of a hat, especially if he started raking in the money again, he'd think it was a new loicense to spend money, etc.

I think Donald is going to get more than he bargained for.

He already spends it, I think he just needs to start making more than he is.

I like the vegas show idea. It'll make a heck of a lot of money, and performing is something that MJ seems to take pretty seriously. I mean, he's had tours cancelled before because of various legal and person conflicts, but he's never had a fit and cancelled one because he just felt like it.

But he strikes me as being like a little kid with ADD, he'd get bored easily and want to do something else, somewhere else. If he's in a contract for 5 years worth of shows or something, and if he doesn't do the shows, then Trump will sue him and he'll end up financially in more trouble than he's in already.

Although I guess he could do something "immoral" and get out of the contract if he really wanted to, but his reputation is so ruined already, I don't think that would be a good idea. And Trump would probably have it written into the contract that if MJ does do anything immoral to void the contract, then he has to pay Trump the earnings he would miss out on or something.

I think the money would be good for Michael, but I just don't think he could stand doing the same thing day-in and day-out, in the same room, in the same city, for years and years.

That last part is true. I've noticed with Michael Jackson his tours go on for a long time, but it's not a daily routine, there's generally a few days between performances. He does always perform though, and from interviews and behind the scenes stuff I've seen, he's actually quite a work-a-holic at times...

Then there are those other times when he's like a kid with ADD

I wouldn't mind seeing MJ on stage....I'm a big live music fan and no matter what crap he's in he always puts on a good show.
