I'm black too. But nobody ever thought I was hispanic.

So, what did you want to ask us, nicoleb?

i wanted to ask the black people why we always got bad credit
and i wanted to ask a hispanic person to teach me more spanish

I can't speak for all blacks who have bad credit (not ALL of us, but there are many...), but for me it was because I didn't have anyone to teach me the importance of credit, or how to manage money, save, etc. I'm still trying to climb out of the hole I dug for myself as a result. I'll tell you what, though, my daughter won't have any trouble with financial management, because I'm going to teach her what I know early (she's about to get her first bank account next month...), and what I don't know, I'll get help with.

I'm not Black or Latina, but I can tell you the worst people groups for bad credit are doctors, and lawyers. No lie, chile.

Many of them have a habit of living beyond their means.
Even though they have more means than most of society....they tend to go overboard...because they can.

I don't know if you have a job yet, but when you get one, SAVE AS MUCH MONEY AS YOU CAN. Put it in the bank and pretend you don't have it.

I have a friend who worked at walmart from when he was 15 to when he was 18.

When he went off to college, he had $10,000 dollars in the bank.


If you get a credit card application in the mail, don't even bother opening it. Rip it to shreds and throw it out.

Don't borrow money. Don't get payment plans if you don't have to. Have as few bills as possible and keep them as low as you can.

If you do have a payment plan, pay it off as fast as possible.

STAY OUT OF DEBT.
If you find yourself in debt, GET OUT AS QUICKLY AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE.
