Will Harry be alive at the end of book 7?

I put yes, but he'll end up in St. Mungos. Just because he probably couldn't get through it without a nick or cut of some sort

People would hate the series if Harry dies. I think he will end up in St. Mungo's hurt very badly.

Or maybe we'll be lead to believe he died in some way

I think that he will survive, but he's going to go through a lot!! In the end... I don't think that he will be in St Mungo's... but I think that he will be near death, at least once, during his battle(s) with Voldemort!!!

I think he'll be very injured mentally, if you know what I mean. As in psychologically.

How could Harry ever be the same after killing Voldemort? We know that some of his friends will most likely die, so he will be a changed man after this happens.

Who knows HOW it will end, or how Harry will be once it's all over. But, I think that Sherry has a good point. Killing someone can change a person... and no matter what, it's going to be hard on him.... free from this or not.

I'm not saying that killing a person won't change someone. But I do think that Voldmort dead would be a huge burden released and a great relief to everyone, especially Harry.

Harry will survive; there's no doubt about that. Harry Potter is a classic hero tale which leads me to believe that good will prevail and the Hero will live happily ever after.

Harry saw his family in the Mirror of Erised. This shows that the thing that he wants more than anything is a family. A major theme of the series is friendship. I believe, in the end, these two story arcs will merge, and his friends will become his family. He will marry into the Weasley family through Ginny, and Hermione will marry into the Weasley family through Ron. That is why the Weasley family is so glorified by Rowling. They will become Harry's family, fulfilling his want and need for it.

Heather, that theory is very cute, but don't you think that marrying at the age of 17 is a bit early? I think that for the most part your theory is correct, but the story will end with budding romances.

I think it would be a release to Harry to have Voldemort gone, but to have gone through the struggle that only he could bear. That would change him.

Heather I think that in the future glimspe, and we are supposed to know what happens to them after Hogwarts, that the family idea will come to pass.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, I've not thought about it in that sense.. but, you're right. It will be hard, for him, with the deaths of so many that he loves, and knowing that he HAD to kill someone, even if they ARE evil, to the core... it's going to change him, completely. But, in the end, he will find balance... even if that balance is with Ginny. Somewhere/someone, will give him that much needed balance, and he will be okay, someday.

I think Harry will survive but when he VANQUISHES MouldieWart they might both lose their power. I believe Harry wont stoop to the level of killing, and that'll be the thing that does the Dark Lord in (possibly sending him to St Mungo's)

Voldamort would become a martyr if he died so to utterly defeat him and render him harmless so that the whole wizarding world to see and feel safe, Harry must not kill him as "there are worse things than death!" which I think for the Dark Lord would be to be completely powerless in the wizarding world so that even Squibs could push him around!

Your idea about Voldemort having no powers in a world of wizards is fantastic. Unfortunately, I think with all the deaths that are occuring to characters in the books... people will be after He Who Must Not Be Named's blood...
