LET'S hope Chris Rock has better luck hosting the Oscars than he did holding the attention of one audience at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood the other night. The comic performed five unannounced shows last weekend to tune up for the Academy Awards. We're told Rock slayed the crowds each time except for one set on Saturday, when Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey were in the balcony making out. The audience was watching them more than Rock. When he caught on, he called attention to the lovebirds. "That's distracting," he bellowed up to the balcony. "If I [bleep] up the Oscars, I'm blaming it on you two!"
