PS2 Baldur's Gate-how to use spells??

In Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance, as the sorceress, I've been gaining experience levels and gaining spells/feats. But every time I use a spell (press the O button), all it EVER does is shoot the fireballs. How do I use all the other spells I've spent my points on?? Dying to see how the lightning and meteor shower stuff annihilates the bad guys!

its annoying!! i cant even get past the spiders!! arent i slow?
well, if you get a chance, tell me too o.k.? how did u get past the spiders?

This is an old post, but I think you have to push either R1 or R2, then push either the X, triangle, square or O buttons.

I haven't played it on the ps2, but I figure it'd be something like that.
