Liz Hurley could soon be getting her head around a bit of magical wand action.

The 39-year-old actress is being touted as a potential candidate for a part in the next Harry Potter film.

According to IMDb.com website, film bosses want the Austin Powers star to take on the role of evil Bellatrix Lestrange.

A source said: "The producers have tried to keep details of the cast under wraps but they have always wanted someone beautiful and mystical to play Bellatrix and they reckon Liz can pull it off."

Bellatrix is Sirius Black's cousin and a Death Eater, loyal to the evil Lord Voldemort, in the fifth Potter book, Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix.

The film version of the fourth book in the series, Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire, is due for release this November.

I don't think she's that good of an actress. Generally, she seems to be eye-candy more than a serious actor.

She does not look old enough. Bellatrix was in Azkaban, so she would not be beautiful anymore. She would have the look of someone who once was beautiful. Make her look all haggy, then she might do.

I dunno, I think she can be evil, but I agree with Sherry, she's not old or haggard looking enough, and they wont make her looking worn or anything, they'll just leave her looking hot. And that's just wrong
