I think Chavez is on crack. Only the paranoid would act this way.

if you studied America's track record in South America, his attitude might make a little bit more sense.

I agree with Dekka I am sure that the US has faced accusations like this before.

If the guy gets dead,,,how can his threats carry weight. Everyone accuses The US. of A. of everything and anything they can think of. If The U.S wanted him dead.. he would already be in that condition.http://smilies.sofrayt.com/fsc/no.gif

Actually Becker, the CIA did try and pull off a coup in Venezuela to oust Chavez, but Chavez stood up under the pressure.

A friend gave me some literature about the state of oil for the US.
Regarding fear factors: "And in Venezuela, the largest oil producer outside of the Middle East, leftist president Hugo Chavez has rattled markets with his anti-Western sentiments."

We import 13% of our supply from Venezuela and Chavez is threatening to reduce the amount and sell the rest to China. How about them apples?

SWTT.... We all know that some of the world large corps. have more money than many many countries.

It is in their interest to both protect and profit from their huge investments.

I guess this is your meaning of the New World Order.

Bush got elected because he supports those companies.

The dems. won't be able to gain occupancy in the White House until and unless they guarantee the same support.

As I always say.

"Money Rules."

Becker,
Yes to the above.

My problem with how it stands now is that the president, congress, judicial branch are all supposed to be servants of the people. Servants of the people, not servants of big corporations that have ties into other nations.

America is no longer the home of the free and the brave, but the wealthy and the controlling. And anyone who disagrees with that elitist stance is told to "find another country." Well, the USA of old and envisioned by the framers no longer exists.
