Corey Feldman Subpoenaed in Jackson Case

LOS ANGELES - Actor Corey Feldman (news), who says in an interview airing this week that Michael Jackson (news) showed him nude pictures when Feldman was in his early teens, was subpoenaed by prosecutors in the singer's molestation case, the actor's manager said Thursday.

Feldman described the pictures in a new interview with journalist Martin Bashir, who was responsible for the documentary "Living With Michael Jackson." That program, which aired on ABC in February 2003, has footage of Jackson and his accuser holding hands and Jackson defending his practice of sharing his bed with children.

Feldman, 33, said he went to Jackson's home when he was 13 or 14 and saw a book on the coffee table with pictures of naked men and women.

"And the book was focused on venereal diseases and the genitalia. And he sat down with me and he explained it to me, showed me some different pictures and discussed what those meant," Feldman said, according to an excerpt of an interview scheduled to air Friday on ABC's "20/20."

Feldman was contacted last week by prosecutors who want to question him about his relationship with Jackson, said Feldman's manager, Scott Carlson.

"I guess they're subpoenaing anyone who they think or hope might have anything to say," Carlson said.

Feldman himself was unavailable for comment because of a gag order in the case, Carlson said.

The actor, who starred in the hit 1980s films "Stand By Me" and "The Goonies," was arrested for heroin possession in 1990. He has been sober for 14 years, worked recently on the film "The Birthday," and has television and stage work lined up, Carlson said.

"He's been very busy. He had nothing to gain by coming forward and saying anything," his manager said.

Feldman told Bashir he didn't consider the nude pictures "a big deal," but became concerned because of the current molestation charges against Jackson.

Jackson, 46, is accused of molesting a 13-year-old former cancer patient and giving the boy alcohol and conspiring to hold him and his family captive. Jury selection in the case is scheduled to continue Monday.

Feldman said Jackson never touched him inappropriately and he never saw the singer act inappropriately with anyone else. He said he defended Jackson in an interview with police investigating molestation allegations in 1993 involving another boy. No charges were ever filed in that case.

"I did what I believed was right as a friend — I defended him up and down. I did so publicly and I did so behind closed doors with the police," Feldman told Bashir.

If that was all the evidence against him, that he just showed a kid a book on venereal disease (I don't even want to think why he has a book on that subject) then it wouldn't be a big deal, but all these little bits and pieces fit together to make a mountain of evidence.

but why would he leave a book like that out unless he wanted to show it to the kid. Normal adults do not show naked pictures to kids.

Actually showing naked pics to kids is one way that pedophiles break the ice with potential victims. First they befriend, then they isolate, then they use pornographic material to seduce.

very true Chel. Cory was high profile, so he would have had to be very careful with this kid.

Feb. 10, 2005 — Former child star Corey Feldman has been subpoenaed to testify against Michael Jackson in his child molestation trial, ABC News has learned.

With jury selection under way in Jackson's molestation trial, "20/20's" Martin Bashir interviewed actor Corey Feldman, who spoke about his relationship with "The King of Pop" during his youth.

Feldman said, "I started looking at each piece of information, and with that came this sickening realization that there have been many occurrences in my life and in my relationship to Michael that have created a question of doubt."

Jackson, 46, is accused of molesting a now-15-year-old boy who spent time at his Neverland ranch and is believed to be a cancer survivor who appeared in Bashir's 2003 British documentary "Living With Michael Jackson." The pop star has pleaded not guilty to 10 charges that include felony conspiracy with 28 overt acts involving child abduction, false imprisonment and extortion.

Bashir joined ABC News' "20/20" in September 2004.

As a teen, Feldman — known for his roles in movies such as "Gremlins," "The Goonies" and "Stand by Me" and who appeared in the first season of the celebrity reality show "The Surreal Life" — became good friends with Jackson. They were often seen together, dressed in similar outfits. Their friendship waned and finally ended in 2001. Feldman later released "Megalo-Man," a highly critical song about Jackson on his CD, "Former Child Star," released in 2002.

Why Speak Out?

However, in an exclusive interview, Feldman, now 33, speaks out with surprising new claims about his relationship with Jackson. Until now, the actor has stood by Jackson, and he tells Bashir why he is now coming forward with allegations about their friendship.

Feldman said speaking out has finally become a responsibility and a duty. "This child — if he's telling the truth — and the other children like him — if they're telling the truth — they're small voices, they're weak voices," he said.

Feldman said he hopes the allegations against Jackson are proved false, but said he feels compelled to speak out. "So I'm here to say I hope and I pray that these things never happened, and if they never happened, then there's some real sickness with a lot of people. But if they did happen, then there's a lot of sickness with one person. And that person needs to be punished."

Re-evaluated Friendship

Feldman stressed in his interview with Bashir that Jackson never molested him or touched him improperly and that there was no sexual contact between them. But he said he has re-evaluated his friendship with Jackson and has concluded that there were things that happened in their relationship that were inappropriate and wrong.

"If you consider it inappropriate for a man to look at a book of naked pictures with a child that's 13 or 14 years old — then your answer would be yes."

Feldman says he had such an encounter at Jackson's home when he says they stopped there on the way to Disneyland. "We went to his apartment, and I noticed a book that he had out on his coffee table. The book contained pictures of grown men and women naked. And the book was focused on venereal diseases and the genitalia." Feldman said the singer sat down with him and explained the photos to him.

Feldman said, "I was kind of grossed out by it. I didn't think of it as a big deal. And for all these years, I probably never thought twice about it … But in light of recent evidence … I have to say that if my son was 14 years old — 13 years old, and went to a man's apartment that was 35, and I knew that they were sitting down together talking about this, I would probably beat his ass."

In 2001, Feldman and Jackson had a falling out. At the time, Feldman told the press the rift had nothing to do with child abuse allegation that continued to dog Jackson.

In 1993, when a 12-year-old boy accused the singer of molestation, Feldman defended Jackson publicly and to investigators.

"He never did anything out of line. I mean anything, you know," Feldman said in a 1993 audiotape made by authorities. "I mean, the closest he ever came to touching me was maybe slapping me on the leg once."

Jackson always denied any wrongdoing in that case, and has denied ever harming any child. Santa Barbara County, Calif., prosecutors did not pursue charges against him after they said the alleged victim refused to testify. "The King of Pop" settled a civil suit filed by the boy's family for a reported $20 million.

Feldman said he defended the singer in 1993 because he thought he was being a loyal friend. "I did what I believed was right as a friend," Feldman said. "I defended him up and down. … I did so publicly, and I did so behind closed doors with police."

Harvey Levin, executive producer of "Celebrity Justice," came into possession of Feldman's 1993 audiotaped statements to investigators and says they could ultimately help Jackson's defense. Levin says they show authorities were convinced of Jackson's guilt then and could suggest they have a vendetta in the current case against him.

"It might give jurors some pause because it seems like the cops had made up their mind during this interview [with Feldman] that Michael Jackson was a child molester," Levin said.

Since Bashir's interview with Feldman, prosecutors have subpoenaed the actor, and he has been placed under the same gag order imposed on all parties in the case. Feldman, Bashir reports, is expected to appear on the stand as a prosecution witness on March 15. Bashir has also been ordered to testify about his extensive interview with Jackson in "Living With Michael Jackson."

I saw the interview with Corey Feldman and he was very careful not to accuse Jackson outright. He kept questioning Jacksons motives. Funny, he didn't seem to question them before in the first allegations. Guess he has some kinda repressed memory thing going on. Common in people who have been sexually abused, in my opinion.

When you have kids, it changes your life and the way you think. He is a new father now. The allegations come out again, and as a dad he would think about the safety of his son. What if someone did that to my kid? Then I am sure he re-examined the events. Heck, he was a kid from a troubled home. He saw Michael as his hero. In those circumstances, he would not question things.

I agree having children does change your outlook. That's understandable. He had some "abuse" with his parents, but he wasn't specific. I think by the tone of the interview he still has some issues. We'll see what happens when he is subpoenaed.

One more thing. I do remember seeing the World Music Awards years ago, and MJ had the young boy on his lap like a baby. He looked about 12 or 13 yrs old. I did comment about it at the time, because it looked "odd" and it was not his own child.

Later on this turned out to be the first "alleged" victim, who MJ settled out of court.
Granted, lots of children and child stars have been to Neverland and hung out with MJ. I wonder about Emmanuel Lewis, Macaulay Culkin and if they saw strange material in Neverland.

Michael needs a life, and he needs people to tell him that his behaviour is inappropriate for a grown man. He has too many "yes" people around him and that includes his delusional family who will support him in ignorance as long as they remain on the payroll.

Most adults normally put pornographic images out of children's sight. I know I would. There is adult content and images of sexuality that young children do not need to see until they are older (legal age) and mature.

I don't believe it's MJ duty to teach other people's children any sort of information that is considered "sexually explicit" or "sexually graphic". He may do so with his own children, but it is inappropriate, possibly done without the parents consent or knowledge.

MJ left himself wide open as a target for extortion (if the allegations are false), and for negligence, and criminal charges if it is true.

Um, me. But seriously, there are certain things that you do not do. you don't show nude pictures to someone else's kid. Note, I would not show pics to ANY kid. It is just not right.

The Lost Boys

On tonight's 20/20, Corey Feldman talks to Martin Bashir about the "inappropriate" relationship he had with Michael Jackson in the '80s (Jacko was a apparently a huuuuge Goonies fan).

Feldman says in the Q&A:

"I started looking at each piece of information and with that came this sickening realization that there have been many occurrences in my life and in my relationship to Michael that have created a question of doubt."

For example: twenty years ago MJ showed CF a coffee table book with nekkid people.

"The book was focused on venereal diseases and the genitalia and he sat down with me and he explained it to me, showed me some different pictures and discussed what those meant."

Since these revelations came to light, the actor has been subpoenaed in Jacko's child molestion case. Dude knows a good photo opportunity when he sees one. Remember when C-Feld was married by MC Hammer on The Surreal Life? That's hott. I can't even get Rev. Young MC to preside over my nuptials.

McCauley Culkin is subpoenaed in the case too, but no news (yet) from Emmanuel Lewis' camp. Sadly I CANNOT WAIT for this **** to start playing out on Court TV.

hey, I can see it coming from a mile away:

MR. Jackson how did the young man see the pictures in the book?

"well I am a grown man, and I don't feel I have to hide my material in my own home....and anyway it was for medical research"

Well Mr. Jackson he claims you explained some of the things in the book to him.

"well after I found him snooping through my things I had to tell him what they were......and so on, and so on"

This thing will go in circles.

Corey Feldman has been caught (possibly with his wife - reports are still sketchy) in a swingers club with a dominatrix, who is trying to sell her story to Entertainment Tonight or something.

Why is that all of the witnesses are losing credibility left right and centre? If I didn't know better it'd look like a conspiracy.

I have to ask though...is Corey Feldman and his wife's sexual events with a dominatrix such an issue of credibility in his case?

I dont see how someone can lose credibility when he and his wife engage in something together as a couple!

If someone is claiming that he has lost credibility under these guidelines, then someone has a real problem distinguishing when someone is really credible or not.

I dont see this as a credibility issue. I would believe him. I mean if this is all they have...its nothing IMO.

What they guys does for thrills does not matter. It doesn't make him lose credibility. Who is to say that a dominatrix will be believed over him?

I don't see anything wrong with a consenting couple of adults going to swingers clubs or hiring a dominatrix, but a LOT of people with more consertaive views are going to see him as being a freak, it's sex outside of marriage, they're wife-swapping, it's a sex club, they're not generally considered to be exactly wholesome activities.
