Noth to join Law & Order:CI |
| Posted by: fuscia | | LOS ANGELES — Chris Noth's guest appearance this weekend on "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" is the start of something big.
Noth, who left the original "Law & Order" 10 years ago, will become a regular on the spinoff beginning next season, series spokeswoman Pam Ruben Golum said Tuesday.
He will split duties with current series lead Vincent D'Onofrio, who's continuing as police Detective Robert Goren. Each actor will appear in 11 episodes for the fifth season. The NBC series airs at 9 p.m. EST Sunday.
Noth's casting will ease the work load for D'Onofrio, who was hospitalized briefly last year for exhaustion.
"The hardest job in show business is being a single lead on an hour drama series," said "Law & Order" creator and executive producer Dick Wolf . "Vincent has done an unbelievable job for the last four seasons, but after 3 1/2 years, the grueling pace finally took its toll."
He called Noth's addition to the show an "ideal solution."
Noth, who was Sarah Jessica Parker's love interest, Mr. Big, on HBO's "Sex and the City," will again play police Detective Mike Logan, his character from 1990-95 on "Law & Order." | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Delta | | oH Fuscia you were sooo right. I am so excited. Noth did play on two of Crossing Jordans hence they made a mistake one evening. I saw the repeats every time he was on Now for the the news I found:
Law & Order: Enough Already?
At one point there were four Law & Order shows crowding the airwaves. Now NBC's booting one off, and seriously tinkering with another. We wonder: Is Law & Order-mania a thing of the past?
When Law & Order came on TV in 1990, it added a new twist to crime drama by combining your basic cop show with your basic lawyer show and tossed in plots that were "ripped from the headlines." The formula worked: The original series spawned three spin-offs over the years — Special Victims Unit, Criminal Intent, and Trial by Jury — and cable station TNT jams its schedule with syndicated episodes of the original series. Creator Dick Wolf must be pleased.
But now there's a new wrinkle. When NBC recently unveiled its lineup for the fall 2005 season, Law & Order: Trial By Jury — the newest show in the Law & Order stable — was nowhere to be found. The peacock network dumped the series, starring Bebe Neuwirth, after just twelve episodes. Also struggling is Law & Order: Criminal Intent, the one with Vincent D'Onofrio as a quirky detective who seems to know everything from classical literature to Chinese board games. While still set to return in the fall, Law & Order: CI was unceremoniously knocked out of its lofty position as the top-rated show in its timeslot when ABC unleashed a neighborhood of Desperate Housewives. Another thorn in Criminal Intent's side has been the health of its star Vincent D'Onofrio, who was hospitalized last year for fatigue. Scurrying to give D'Onofrio a break from the grueling schedule, producers have added L&O alum Chris Noth to the cast, taking over the lead role in half the upcoming season's episodes, as the same character he played many years ago, Det. Mike Logan.
With the failure of one Law & Order program, and signs of another wilting, we wonder if there's a backlash against the saturation of the airwaves with the Law & Order franchise. What do you think? NO!!!! TRIAL BY jURY WAS BORING AND \i KEPT LOOKING FOR Lilith everytime BeBe opened her mouth. Yuk it was boring after two shows Click off it went.
Why do you think Law & Order has been such a success over the years? Which is your favorite Law & Order program? Who are your favorite characters and why? Do you think that franchising the original program into spin-offs was a wise thing to do? Do you think that there are too many Law & Order programs on the air? How do you feel about the cancellation of Law & Order: Trial By Jury? Do you believe the network gave it fair chance at survival? What's your view of the changes being made to Law & Order: Criminal Intent? Are you happy to see Chris Noth returning to a Law & Order series as a regular?
I left the entire bottom portion in as if anyone wants to join in a discussion I will be happy to defend 24 and Boston Legal

Law & Order: Enough Already?
"Let me explain why Trial by Jury was cancelled: my husband and I liked the show. Anytime we decide that we like something, you can count on it being cancelled."
Diana A.
"Trial by Jury just didn't really crank my tractor that well. It was a little slow paced compared to the others."
Sandy W.
"Personally, I think it's about time NBC started to get a clue that Law & Order isn't everyone's favorite show."
Kelli B.
"The original Law & Order is just not the same without Jerry Orbach. He was the man."
Peggy A.
"The producers and writers really know how to bring reality to these shows. The stories may not be a 'real' story from the news/headlines, but they sure are close."
LynnRae T.
"My favorite Law & Order (and the only one I watch) is SVU. I love the stories and the cast, except for the new A.D.A. Casey Novak. Give her the boot."
John H.
"I am disappointed Trial by Jury was dumped. It was well written, expertly acted, and intriguing."
Tony P.
"I love Law & Order – every single one of them!"
John C.
"I think the biggest problem with Trial by Jury was its time slot – who watches TV on Friday night?"
Josh B.
"As far as Chris Noth returning: I'm happy to hear that. I just don't want to see Mr. D'Onofrio leave."
Rosa W.
"I am a total Law & Order junkie, and I seldom miss an episode. In my opinion, there can never be too many spin-offs."
Leanne P.
"There are too many Law & Order programs on the air. They over saturate TV with spin-offs until you get tired of the same old plots."
Oliver B.
"The Law & Order shows should all be kicked off of television because I hate all off them. They all are just so confusing."
Lindsay S.
"Between Fox's line-up and Desperate Housewives, Criminal Intent was bound to get shelled. How about moving to Tuesday or Friday?"
Robert B.
"I enjoy watching all of the Law & Order shows and, to be honest with you, I love watching Vincent D'Onofrio work out all the clues and solve a case."
Ernie C.
"I hated Trial by Jury and think NBC did us a favor by yanking it."
Jean F.
"Criminal Intent is my favorite! Trial by Jury stunk!"
Ron F.

Actor
Born: November 13, 1954 in Madison, WI
A veteran of film and television, Chris Noth is probably best known for his work on Law and Order and HBO's Sex and the City, the latter of which featured him as the charming but terminally untrustworthy Mr. Big, erstwhile boyfriend/bad habit of the series' heroine, Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker).
Hailing from Madison, WI, where he was born November 13, 1954, Noth moved around a lot throughout his childhood, living in England, Yugoslavia, and Spain. Returning to the States, | | Reply To this Message

Law & Order C.I. on Sunday nights at 9. I missed tonight becuase I had to catch up on house cleaning. Mr. F. told me as he left for work to be good. So I said, "I guess that means I can't watch Noth". He goes "well if you have a clean mind you can." He shut the door, and I said, "I guess I can't watch." I got busted! he heard. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Delta | | Its an older repeat of a serial murderer whom buries his victims alive and records them up till their death. Grusome but Jordan gets involved and then Noth comes in as a /CIA profiler and they have this "thing" going on between them. Everytime it comes on I watch it. Noth calls the predator the Digger
There are 7 of us living together in this large house but only one TV so far.
Time has been spent cleaning off and disinfecting the china etc that the kids were able to go down to New Orleans and get. Have to share right now but I really miss my favorite shows. Bostoin Legal ison Tuesday night so I hope that since its my day to cook I can get the dinner over with early enough to catch that show. Oh well this too shall pass.
