While the newest autumn-winter 2005 creations have taken centre stage at New York Fashion Week, the dozens of famous faces in attendance have also drawn their share of admiring glances.

Hotel heiresses headed up the A-listers when Paris Hilton and her sister, Nicky, attended the Luca Luca show at the tents in Bryant Park - the Mecca of the event where most of the autumn previews for buyers and fashionistas take place. An alluring Carmen Electra also took it all in from the sidelines.

And there's been no shortage of celebs hitting the catwalk: joining the likes of Karolina Kurkova, who showed off creations for Oscar De La Renta, was Keith Richard's daughter Alexandra, who strutted her stuff at the Heart Of Truth benefit. Active off the runway too, Alexandra and her sister were spotted on Monday evening along with Renee Zellweger previewing the Carolina Herrera collection.

The start of the week saw some of the entertainment world's most stylish trendsetters taking their place in the prestigious front row seats for Marc Jacobs' catwalk extravaganza. Among the head-turners were Destiny's Child leader Beyonce, who accompanied her boyfriend, rapper Jay-Z. An elegant Uma Thurman took time out of her busy schedule to attend the high-octane show snuggled up to her hotelier beau Andre Bazan.

While Marc did upset some guests by starting his show an hour and a half behind schedule, he succeeded in putting on one of the week's more energetic shows, offering his signature styles including cardigans, and dresses with trippy 1960s-inspired geometric patterns in dazzling colours, plus a series

Beyonce and Jay-Z take in the styles – and each other – at the Marc Jacobs show on Monday. But their tardy entrance didn't win them any fans: Arriving 90 minutes late, they were met by a chorus of boos from attendees who thought they had held up the runway.

PUSHY CELEBS IRK FASHIONISTAS

FASHION editors who have to go to all the Bryant Park shows as part of their jobs are getting fed up with the celebrities who show up late accompanied by rampaging bodyguards and photographers.

* After waiting 90 minutes for Monday's Marc Jacobs' show to start, Vogue editrix Anna Wintour finally lost her wintry cool. "I've had enough. I want to go!" she told organizers, even before Beyoncé and Jay-Z arrived with their retinue of security and paparazzi, who were crowding Wintour and the other working stiffs in the front row.

* Wintour summoned a Jacobs staffer and loudly told him, "This is ridiculous" — prompting a Jacobs minion to shoo the shutterbugs and bodyguards away.

The fashion oracle, who's been targeted by animal-rights terrorists, was being protected herself, but very discreetly by a single bodyguard who sat behind her in the second row.

* Paris and Nicky Hilton love to cause a scene. The heiresses disregarded repeated requests of Luca Luca show organizers to make a quiet entrance through the backstage door at Bryant Park Sunday night. They even tried to trick organizers by calling ahead to say they wouldn't make it. Then they pulled up to the main entrance.

Their public entrance caused such a stir that 7th on Sixth security had trouble keeping the shutterbugs from trampling front-row editors including Candy Pratts-Price.

* Russell Simmons was forced to take on the role of security guard at his wife Kimora Lee-Simmons' Baby Phat show at Skylight on Hudson Street. The Saturday night event was delayed because a pack of paparazzi had surrounded seatmates Ashley Olsen, Lil' Kim and Missy Elliott, and would not stop snapping photos.

"Finally, Russell got up and started waving his arms and screaming, 'Get the [bleep] out of here! Go back to your seats so the show can start!' " a witness reports. "About 30 photographers totally dispersed. Everyone was cheering and high-fiving Russell when he went back to his seat."

The Post's Fashion Buzz column previously reported that Vogue editor-at-large Andre Leon Talley was turned away at the door of the jam-packed show, while R&B superstar Usher was whisked in before his eyes.

i agree it doesn't really suit with the brown and the jeans, i dont think it suits ful stop ..... maybe he wanted to match in with Beyonce. hmmmm.
