While all nominees may not walk away with an Oscar this Sunday, they will not go home empty-handed.
The most lavish goody bags will go to the Best Actress and Actor winners. Aside from an assortment of the latest skincare products and fragrances from Estee Lauder, the gift bags are stuffed with an array of jewellery and gadgets.
Winners will also be taking home personalised indulgences, such as a monogrammed cashmere and suede Loro Piana blanket and Baccarat crystal emblazoned with the nominee's moniker.
Academy Awards presenters such as Robin Williams, Charlize Theron and Morgan Freeman will also receive a special bag packed with goodies. Their lavish treats will contain, among other things, a package for a three-night getaway to the luxurious Four Seasons Resort in Whistler, Canada.
Also taking home a rather different gift bag will be those celebrities arriving at the Academy Awards venue in alternative fuel transport. Eco-friendly vehicle providers Global Green has put together a collection of green goodies, including a "conflict-free" cultured diamond pendant or pin valued at $2,500-$3,500 from Diamonds For Humanity, which promotes luxury with conscience.
A host of A-listers including Orlando Bloom, Salma Hayek and Leonardo DiCaprio will be taking part in the Red Carpet-Green Cars promotion, arriving in cars that run on a gas and electricity mix.

Conflict free? What the hell does that mean? Is that because everyone gets one, so they don't have to fight over them?
"Luxery with a conscience"? They've got to be kidding. Yeah buy yourself $4000.00 worth of diamonds that you'll wear for one night, that money could feed a village in Africa for a year, but yeah, you get those ear rings. That should sit REALLY well on your conscience.

| Posted by: gaboman | | Hmm... do you want a serious answer to the conflict free thing? If so: confict diamonds refer to those which are obtained or sold by governments and/or corporations that have all kinds of illegal dealings, or obtained through violence, terrorism or other horrible methods. There's probably a more standard definition to it, but that's the way I understand it.
though I guess you were making a joke | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Lawless | | I have always found it a joke that the famous get things, and not just these "gift bags" for free. I would LOVE to hear of a celeb taking every ounce of thier gift bags, and turning around and giving it, or it's value, to someone in need. THAT would impress me. | | Reply To this Message

I assumed it was something like that. Diamonds without involving slave labour and war and whatever.

A-list Hollywood stars who take to the stage to present an award at Sunday's Academy Awards will find an unusual gift in their customary goodie bag -- a $570 vacuum cleaner.
Among the thousands of dollars worth of jewelry and other free items handed to pampered stars will be one of the latest gadgets to take America by storm -- a British-made, bag-less Dyson vacuum cleaner.
A press release from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences promises, "As nominees clean up at the upcoming Oscars, celebrity presenters will also clean up with the much-talked-about Dyson DC11."
