| Angelina Jolie vows never to let father into life
The Oscar-winning beauty fell out with her dad, actor John Voight, after he criticised her in a chat show. Though he has made many attempts to try and heal their rift, Angelina says she doesn’t want anything to do with him – because she doesn’t want to disrupt adopted son Maddox’s life.
She is quoted by Australia’s Sydney Daily Telegraph as saying: “If there are people in your life that make your stomach go into knots or make you feel like you could throw up from nerves or you see people you care about cry, and there’s tension and unrest, you can’t have that. "
“At some point you have to decide you’re just not going to have that around. So I will never have to worry about my son having a bad relationship with him (father Jon Voight). I won’t have to worry about me being frustrated or upset or emotional or imbalanced for my kid. We just don’t understand each other as people. I have no animosity. I don’t hate him, I have no anger. I just can’t have that in my life. So I don’t think there’ll be a time when I want it.”
