Portia De Rossi has given lover Ellen DeGeneres a Tiffany wedding band as a symbol of her devotion to the comedienne -- and she bought herself a matching ring.

The "Arrested Development" actress gave the band to DeGeneres on her 47th birthday after only a two-month courtship. De Rossi walked out on long-term partner Francesca Gregorini to be with the funnywoman last month.

A source told Page Six, "It signifies their commitment to each other."

However, the happy couple are unlikely to hold a ceremony to celebrate their union because gay marriages are illegal in California and they would want official recognition.

Meanwhile, De Rossi is having laser treatment to remove a tattoo of the initials "F.G." from her wedding finger -- Gregorini has a similar tattoo, which the pair had done to signify their devotion.

I can't take this seriously. They both left serious long term relationships to be with each other and then they swapped rings after two months. It's too fast.

And sorry, to say, I think it might be more a career thing than a love thing. Ellen's career went a bit downhill, then she came out and then it was back up again, she broke up with Anne Heche and her career sort of slid again, now she's dating Portia and everything's rosey.

Same story with Portia, her acting career in the USA wasn't going anywhere, then she's caught pashing another woman in an alley somewhere and all of a sudden she's the next big thing. Now she's with Ellen and her star is rising again.

I dont know about the relationship now..I wasnt aware of it..

But I think that Ellen's career slid more downhill when she was with Anne Heche. After she got rid of that looney tune, I think her career went back up. She had a new stand-up routine on HBO, which was funnier than ever and then she got her own talk show, which seems to have done really well.

No matter though...I'm a fan of Ellen's and always will be. I could care less about her relationships.

I'm with you, mystic... .Ellen has a great career right now. She's liked, by many. Best thing that happened to her was the end of her relationship with Anne Heche!!!!

If her and Portia are happy... that's great!!!!!
