| According to the researchers on the properties of coronavirus, it is found that activities for said virus will slow down at degree 38.6 C or higher. At 56 C, the said virus will not last for 30 minutes. Now, the question is:
1. Is it safe to soak an infected patient into some moderate heat source like hotspring to slow down the growth of such virus in the patient’s body, and eventually kills them?
Fever is a natural response of the body that helps in fighting off foreign substances, such as microorganisms, toxins, etc. Body temperature is set by the thermoregulatory center, located in an area in the brain called hypothalamus. Body temperature is not constant all day, but actually is lowest at 6 A.M. and highest around 4-6 P.M. It was belief that it would effectively lower a patient’s body temperature when soaking him/her in cold water. The result is actually less than satisfactory since it actually reduces sweating from the body, in effect shutting down the channel of exhausting body heat. Soaking in hotspring with control (meaning carefully observing the patient’s reaction to such treatment) will speed up the natural sweating, which may effectively reduce fever.
2. Under what other circumstances will the virus die besides warming up the temperature?
It has been proven diluted cleaning fluid with ph value 9 or less will not kill the virus. It actually provides better environment for its survival. It explains why so many physicians, nurses, or hospital workers who got infected even though they have followed the normal procedures of washing hands before removing their respirator or the like. This remains a subject for researches to analyze: what chemical substances, along with high temperature, can effectively contain or kill the virus. | |
