| Posted by: fuscia | | LONDON (Reuters) - Author JK Rowling, creator of the Harry Potter wizard sagas, has given birth to a baby girl, her publisher said on Monday.
"Both parents are thrilled and mother and baby are doing well. She was born yesterday in Edinburgh," a spokeswoman for her publisher Bloomsbury told Reuters.
The author married Dr Neil Murray in 2001 and this is their second child. Their first, David, will be two in March.
Rowling already has a daughter, Jessica, who was born in 1993 from a previous marriage.
The sixth Potter book, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," is due to be published on July 16. | | Reply To this Message

She said she and husband Neil Murray were "absolutely delighted" by the new arrival and described her as "ridiculously beautiful".
Mackenzie Jean Rowling Murray is the author's third child, and her second with Murray, who she married in 2001.
Their son David was born in 2003. She also has an 11-year-old daughter, Jessica, from a previous marriage.
New book
The author thanked fans for their messages of support. "They mean more than you can know," she said.
Last year, she told fans on her website that she always wanted three children and "could not be happier".
Rowling announced late last year that the sixth Harry Potter book would hit shops on 16 July.
