Harry Potter Screening on Christmas Day TV Upsets Church Leaders

The Christmas screening of Harry Potter and the Philospher's Stone on BBC TV has not went down well with the church.

Some religious figures have criticised the BBC for showing a film which they say, send out the worng message at Christmas. J.K. Rowling's tales of sorcery and magic have always picked up some negative feedback from the church, with some even holding book burnings in the past.

A Church of England spokesperson said: "The BBC has picked the least suitable time to show it.

"Harry Potter portrays witchcraft and black magic in a fictional way but it is capitalising on the supernatural."

The BBC responded: "Harry Potter is one of the most popular family movies in recent years."

Earlier this week the forthcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince topped Amazon's bestseller list six months before it's release date.

You have to wonder what will happen if they ever show the forthcoming His Dark Materials movie over Christmas...

It's ridiculous. What if you don't celebrate Christmas? At least the BBC gave everyone something to watch other than stupid lame Christmas specials.

No, Christmas is the only thing that should matter on Christmas day. It's a day where people of all religions get together and worship Jesus Christ.

I got the Prisoner of Azkaban DVD for Christmas. Eat that suckers!!!
