| DOGG SUES OVER 'ASSAULT' THREATS
Rapper Snoop Dogg has filed a lawsuit that claims a woman and her lawyers demanded $5 million to keep quiet about an alleged assault against her.
The star, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, filed his suit at a Los Angeles courthouse on December 10, in which he denies being involved in the reported attack at a 2003 concert.
Dogg has accused the woman -- her identity is protected by the name "Jane Doe" -- and her attorneys of threatening to sell details of the reported attack to American magazine The National Magazine and a book publisher if he refused to pay the $5 million ransom.
Lawyers acting for the hip-hop star are seeking punitive damages and an assurance there will be no more threats.
