Dec. 18, 2004 - Hilary Duff slams scantily clad pop peers. Teen sensation Hilary Duff has slammed her pop peers for wearing inappropriately raunchy clothes.
The singer and actress, 17, is disgusted by stars who bare their flesh to attract older, male fans.
She complains, "Certain artists my age who are going through this phase of not wanting a younger audience or not wanting people their age to like them or trying to get a more male-oriented audience will take their clothes off.
"I definitely don't think that's a sign of maturity."
With a new DVD now in stores on the heels of her self-titled, sophomore album, teen actress and singer Hillary Duff is shoring up her winter tour plans.
After wrapping up 2004 with appearances at holiday-themed radio-station festivals, Duff returns to the road in January for an extensive round of touring in Canada, which she'll follow with a series of U.S. dates. Her confirmed itinerary at press time is shown below; more 2005 dates are expected.
In November, Duff issued "Learning to Fly," a DVD that features her "Fly" music video and a documentary about the making of the clip. The cut is the lead-off track from Duff's latest album, which surfaced in late September and debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 album chart.
"Hillary Duff" is the follow-up to Duff's solo debut, last year's "Metamorphosis," which is certified triple platinum, signifying U.S. shipment of 3 million copies.
Duff appears in two romantic comedies that were released in 2004: "A Cinderella Story" and "Raise Your Voice." She recently completed the filming of "The Perfect Man," which is expected to hit theaters in 2005.
