I looked at the floors and what they treat at St. Mungos. No maternity ward there. Are wizarding children born at muggle hospitals?

St. Mungo's floors
Ground Floor: Artifact Accidents
(Cauldron explosion, wand-backfiring, broom crashes, etc.)

First Floor: Creature-Induced Injuries
(Bites, stings, burns, embedded spiders, etc.)

Second Floor: Magical Bugs
(Contagious maladies, e.g., dragon pox, vanishing sickness, scrofungulus)

Third Floor: Potion and Plant Poisoning
(Rashes, regurgitation, uncontrollable giggling, etc.)

Fourth Floor: Spell Damage
(Unliftable jinxes, hexes, and incorrectly applied charms, etc.)
Fifth Floor: Visitor’s Tearoom and Hospital Shop

I would guess that Pure-Blood enthusiasts have there own rituals for childbirth.

But then that would leave the other pure-bloods, muggleborns and half-bloods. Perhaps they are born in the muggle world or maybe there are wizarding midwifes.

I think they are probably born at home. The wizarding community seems very traditional and conservative.

Hmm, maybe some are blue light specials too!

I think they are born at muggle hospitals. The Brittish government would know who they all are then. Actually, I have no clue. Just threw that out there.

I just had the strangest image of Molly Weasley giving birth in a muggle hospital with Arthur watching facinated in the technique the doctors used.

That's just wrong! I think they'd just have the baby in a muggle hospital. There's no reason why they would. And as to why there's no maternity ward in St. Mungos, imagine travellung by floo powder when you're in labour!

yea travelling by floo powder with a baby... not good.. or at least it doesnt seem like it would be.

The old pureblood wizards would probably have midwifes, obviously muggle born children are born in muggle hospitals, and probably some half bloods are too.
