I wish I knew. We see things on TV that we think he might like and he doesnt want the usual toys this year...(I think he thinks he's 16 or something)

Anyhow..in my house....these are the "hot" things for him:

1. A Golden Retriever (which we just forked out $600.00 for..and we are picking up on Christmas eve..9 weeks old).

2. A snowboard (which my mom went ahead and got him for Christmas..though I didnt want him to have until after learning to ski)

3. Skates (which he will get early because he needs a new pair for hockey lessons which start this month).

4. Ski lessons (which he will get because my husband loves to ski and because he needs them before he uses his snowbaord..at least I think anyways).

5. Some DVD movies

6. Playstation games

7. New books.

Thats all he has listed. Now...are these the typical toys of a soon to be 7 year old? Never was when I was 7.....times are a changing arent they!

A puppy is very cool. Damon wants one, but now is not the right time for one at our house. Damon wants:

1. Power Rangers on the Motorcycles.

2. Gameboy advance

3. Army guys

Ryan has been wanting a puppy for so long and we held him for as long as we could. We were trying to push him off until his birthday in Feb...but my husband caved.

Me? Im not ready for a dog...but I made it clear that if he gave into it, that he and Ryan will have to take of it (I will once in awhile..but its not gonna become the habit in my house that I do it alone)...I'd rather have a cat..they are much easier.

My neighbor got a puppy for his son...and the only person who walks it and feeds it is his wife....I refuse to let that happen to me...

We got my son gameboy advance last year (the same age as Damon is now)..its a good age for them to have that and he still plays with his. But he also got Playstation 2 last year so that took over the gameboy more often.

Army guys are always good too...unfortunately my kids thinks he is too old for them..so he no longer plays with the ones he has.

Wait until Damon starts counting down the years until he gets a car...we have 9 more years according to Ryan..Id like to think he will forget that..but I dont think thats gonna happen...he has been talking about getting a car since he was 5...whats wrong with this picture??

What are gifts?

Just kidding. I haven't given a gift or recieved one since many years, and I was quite amazed to read some of the stuff here. Keep up with my gift education.

Damon already talks about getting a green truck. He also wants a quad, but I made daddy promise that it won't be this year for that.

Our new addition...

We took Ryan out to the breeder yesterday and he unknowingly picked out his new puppy....

We told him that we were taking him out to play with the dogs...

We are so shifty!!

That's one fluffy mutt.

I'm coming to realize that I can't stand living with hairy animals tht have their run of the place. cats, dogs, rabbits, ferrets, what-have-you. Stinking lame animals I just don't want to live with any more. I only mention it because I've been stuck living with animals the past few years and we still have my dad's dog here now. I can't stand their two-track-mind. It's either: we're bing completely obnoxious, or we're certain that owner-unit is going to hand us something to eat any moment now. There's nothing else to life. The repetetive cycle is boring and gets quite smelly. But hey, that's just me

I just don't like the fuss that comes along with having a pet.

Wow....Bah Humbug you two scrooges! j/k

Seriously...I really wasnt really hip on getting a dog either....but there is something about a little boy with his dog...I didnt want to deprive my child of that..so I decided that I would put aside my feelings about it so that he could enjoy having one.

She is right. There is something about a little kid and a dog.

When I was a kid I wanted a pet too. But seeing how I know myself, and how my Mom knows me, we both knew that she would be the one taking care of excrement removal. My Mom doesn't have any love lost for pets anyways. She has had her share of them and then some.

Since I have been raised in a mostly pet-free environment, I doubt I will have a pet in the future, unless my to-be spouse has one. In that case, she will have to take care of the animal herself. I am so mean.

p.s. Since I don't celebrate Christmas, I can be the biggest Scrooge ever.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG That is the CUTEST puppy ever (except mine, when he was little, of couse ) You can't resist them when they're that age, you see them and have to have them.

I am definately getting a puppy and a kitten when my kids are young. It's great them having a companion like that.
