It seems like the ultimade "odd couple", but having recently seen a program that showed an arial view of one of the Tahitian islands, I've only recently come to realize how incredibly flat a good number of populated tropical islands are. They will literally be swallowed up by the sea. This isn't some fabrication, these people are in serious danger, and it could literally happen over night by way of some major storm rush related to increased water levels that ultimately floods an island and then the flooding just never goes away to the point that the place will simply disappear. | |
