Hilary Duff played a gig in Sydney last night. Terrifyingly, she was supported by local star Scott Cain. Who? Allow us to explain...

Cain is an Australian Popstars winner who went down the dumper quicker than you could say Michelle McManus. According to Popjustice viewer Weasel, Scott somehow managed to launch a brief career as a kids TV presenter (are you reading this, Sam & Mark?) but right now he has a new album out. It looks like a real classic of our times.

The album's lead single is a slightly unsettling song called... 'Hilary Duff'. It includes lines like "Can't get enough of that wonderful Duff", "Britney is so yesterday" (because Hilary had a single called 'So Yesterday': DO YOU SEE?) and, terrifyingly, "loving her as Lizzie".

Hilary was thirteen when she made Lizzie McGuire.

That's scary. Scott is such a reject, he was the least favourite of all the three Popstars (like American/ Australian Idol, but less popular). I can't believe he is trying to forge a carreer out of that. What a loser.
