| It's been available over the counter in Australia for about 8 months now. It's certainly more convenient.
Most girls who need it, need it after a big Friday night of Saturday night and it can be hard to find doctors who bulk-bill on a weekend, so you have to pay outright for the doctor visit ($40.00) and then pay for the pill ($40.00). Whereas with it available over the counter, you only have to pay once.
The chemists are still required to fill out a form and go through what happened with you, tell you about the risks and side effects and what you should do so that you don't need the morning after pill again, etc. So it's just as safe as getting it from a doctor. | |
