disappearing partial downloads

my isp disconnects me automatically every two hours. When it does this and i am in the middle of downloading a file with kazaa, the partial download 'resets' itself back to 0kb downloaded and i have to start again. Most annoying. Can anybody help please?

Is a more reasonable ISP not an option..? Auto disconnects despite activity level is a sign of a resource-limited, under-powered ISP.. and there you are giving them hard-earned CASH every month.

could do, but i don't have access to broadband and its a cheap unlimted use monthly rate. Other than this its not a problem especially as i can redial automatically when disconnected, losing only seconds. I never used to have this problem, maybe a bug with a more recent version of kazaa?

You say that your ISP automatically disconnects you every two hours - but then mention you never had this problem before.

Are you saying that you are disconnected ONLY if you are using Kazaa - and then only after two hours from when you started the program?

no. sorry. the problem isn't that i'm being disconnected, i know this happens, it has always happened. The problem is, as i mentioned, that when i lose my connection i lose all partially downloaded files downloading with kazaa. So say i'm looking at the transfer window and i've downloaded 2000kb of a 4000kb file, when i'm disconnected it suddenly registers that i've downloaded 0 kb and i can't resume the download from where i left off once reconnected. its THIS that never used to happen, although maybe only with a previous version of kazaa. Thanks.
